Many who have had a strange experience occur in their life can feel a bit  uncertain if their experience was truly odd or if other people have reported similar  events  happening to them too

I know the number of strange creatures being seen  all over the world is growing yearly. I do not think people all over the globe are making up stories of odd looking beasts or creatures. I think people all over the earth are seeing things they do not understand and have started  reporting them more openly.  The internet has allowed  those who felt alone to find that other people are also dealing with strange events and society is opening up about what they are seeing and experiencing

I often receive emails and phone calls from people who tell me about the odd things they have seen.  One of my readers wrote to me about a frightening experience that happened to him somewhere in the Idaho wilderness while on a camping trip.  It seems the man and his friend were hiking on the trails around the camping site where they were staying when they became disoriented and became lost in the woods.

The two  men took a wrong path and ended up miles away from their campsite.  They knew enough to find and stay on the hiking trail but were stranded in the woods for the night.

The two men set up a make shift campsite right on the trail for the night. They started a fire however they  were without any extra clothing or sleeping gear. The two men sat close to the fire trying to rest until morning.

The one  man laid close to the fire on his side facing the woods he noticed what looked like glowing yellow eyes peering at him from the wooded area next to the trail.

He watched the eyes as they were looking directly at him. In his mind he was trying to figure out what the animal could be. He realized that the eyes were too high and far too large to be the typical small forest animals that are normally found in the woods.  They were high enough in the woods to belong to an animal as tall as a human if not taller.

If it were sitting in a tree it had to have an enormous head as the eyes were very large.  He thought of an owl but quickly ruled that idea out as these eyes were slanted and far too oblong to belong to an owl.

He asked his friend to look at the strange set of eyes.  As his friend turned towards the eyes they closed or moved or disappeared. His friend only got a very quick glance at them .  His friend thought they may be fire flies.   The man knew that fire flies were not native to the area.  He also recalled his father telling him that fire flies flickered on and off and they were green " or "greenish."

What he saw were clearly two slanted large yellow glowing eyes.

The man continued to watch the woods.  Within a few minutes, the two glowing eyes once again glowered from the wood side without flickering or blinking.  They simply looked at him for a few seconds and once again disappeared.

The  man felt he was being watched all night and knew that the eyes looking at him were not the typical thing one sees at night in the camping park.

As soon as day break arrived, the two searched the area next to the trail where they saw the eyes the night before watching them.  They found broken twigs and three huge impressions of large foot prints around the tree they thought were close  to where they spotted the watching eyes.  The  men quickly found their way back to the parks regular camp site.  They told the others at the campsite of the eyes, however, no one  had any idea as to what they may have encountered.  The men ended the camping trip and never returned to that camping area again.

The two men were very confused at what had been watching them the night before.  They have no idea what it could have been and have no desire to meet up with those eyes again while lost in the woods at night.

I have no idea what animal could have been watching them from the wood side that would be so large and have yellow slanted glowing eyes.  I think the two  men may have been very lucky that night as the creature watching them seemed to want to keep a distance between them. 

That is not the case however in this next report.

While I was visiting an old friend he told me a story that has haunted him for over 40 years.

He told me that shortly after he returned from his tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968 he had a encounter in the woods surrounding a lake located in upstate New York.  This event has haunted him his entire life. He and his girlfriend where double dating with another couple. The date was winding down and the two couples decided to end the night by spending a little time parking at the local lovers lane that surrounded a nearby lake.

The two couples were sitting in the car with the radio playing.  It was summer time and they had the windows rolled down in my friends pride and joy, which was his 1959 Chevy Impala.

The foursome had split a six pack of beer.  My friend decided to leave the car to relieve himself in the wooded area that surrounded the lake. The other young man with him decided to do the same.

My friend told me he and his friend walked over to the edge of the woods to take care of what they needed to do. He could hear the girls laughing in the car and remembers that 'Jumpin Jack Flash' by the Rolling Stones playing on the radio.

Suddenly, as he faced the woods, he thought he heard movement very close to where he and his friend were standing.  He stood absolutely still and just listened.  Having just returned from fighting in the jungles of Viet Nam,  this man knew the sounds of the night and could recognize the difference in how animals and humans move in the wild.  He knew instinctively something was there and that "something" was watching them.

His friend was oblivious to the presence and continued to go about his business talking endlessly without a clue that anything was wrong.  My friend punched him in the arm and signaled him to be quiet and listen.  Both young men stood motionless listening to the night.

Without warning something large and fast started crashing through the woods towards the two friends.  It was definitely large and it was coming straight at them.

The ground under them vibrated as this large heavy thing came slamming through the woods towards them.  The two friends ran to the car yelling for the girls to roll up the windows.  The young men frantically locked the doors and rolled up the windows.  The girls helped as well.

They barely got the last window up and all the doors locked when the thing from the woods hit the car.  My friend had started his car with the intention of speeding away from the area.  As he gunned his tires he realized they were spinning and he was not moving...

The Thing was holding on to the car!

Whatever it was that had chased them was now on the back of the car pounding on the trunk of the 59 Chevy.  The car rocked up and down as it pounded on the rear of the car.  All four inside the car where screaming in terror as the vehicle shook and heaved up and down.  My friend kept gunning the engine. 

The Chevy V-8 roared as he thought  "If it hits the ground while in gear it will surge forward" and away from whatever was attacking them.

As the car bounced, my friend realized the "Thing" was lifting the rear end of the car off of the ground enough to prevent the car tires from being able to grab the ground enough to pull away.

Suddenly my friend stopped spinning his tires and threw the car in reverse.  The car snapped backwards enough to loosen the grip of the thing holding the car from moving.  As soon as he did this my friend immediately threw the car into drive and nailed it.

The grip was broken and the car took off like a bullet down the old road of the lovers lane.

The foursome in the car kept screaming as they could both hear and feel the heavy pounding footsteps of this thing chasing them as they sped down the road.  My friend hit the gas without looking back and placed as much distance as he could between the car and the thing from the lakes woods.

My friend told me that he will never forget that night, nor can he stop from hearing the 'Mama's and Papa's  song 'Dedicated to the one I love'  ...

It's always in his head when he thinks of that day!

They did not stop until they were back in town near a populated area.  When they pulled over they got out to look at the back of his car. 

The Chevy had large V-like wings as part of the 1959 Impala design.  One of the wings had been bent or folded over.  The trunk had been pushed in where the thing was pounding the car.  The foursome also recovered long strands of hair that appeared to be caught on the wing of the car as the thing bent it.

The two couples searched the Main Street of the town until they found one of the local policemen.  The two young men tried to report the incident to the policeman.  The cop was rude and laughed at the report of the lovers lane creature.  He told them to find another story to explain the damage to the car.

The policeman decided instead of taking the report to cross question the young returning veteran about his tour of duty in Vietnam.  This small town officer decided to accuse my friend of horrific crimes while serving his country.  The cop and my friend nearly came to blows, however, the other young man and the two girls managed to end the unpleasant  episode .

The two couples decided to leave the event alone with the promise that none of them would ever go near that lake or wooded area again.

The next day, my friend and the young man that was with him the night before tried to lift the back of the Chevy off the ground enough so that the tires were off the ground as had been done by the creature the night before.  They could not do it.  They had two other strong healthy young men join them in trying to lift the car just enough for the tires not to spin.  It took five men to lift the car for a split second off the ground just so the tires were not in contact with the ground.

My friend has no idea who or what he encountered in the woods that night. He does know it was terrifying and unexplained.

I have to wonder what it is that we are experiencing all over this planet with so many unknown creatures causing so many unknown encounters with so many ordinary people.

I think now with the resources of the Internet we are realizing that these events are taking place all over the world with many different people with many odd creatures.

It is time that we understand that we are completely lost when it comes to many areas of the paranormal due to our own lack of interest or knowledge to what others are enduring.

When I hear about the experiences like the ones I have written about here, it becomes clear that we all need to pay attention to these reports and acknowledge that there are just too many things we are letting slip by without demanding serious investigations of so many unknowns.

I for one would like to know what lies beyond the wooded edge as well as what is flying around over my head.  I am tired of being told it is all nonsense and living forever in the dark ages concerning that which we simply do not yet understand.

All I can say is:

Please be careful where you go and what you do as none of us ever know when it will be our day ... to look straight into the eyes of the Unknown!

Do objects disappear around your home, then inexplicably reappear? You might be a victim of Disappearing Object Phenomena. What could be the cause?

One afternoon I was copying programs using my old Commodore 64 computer in a room designated as the "computer room." The copy program had just instructed me to swap disks, and I remember taking the "original" disk out of the drive and laying it on the desk next to the keyboard. At that time, my mother called me out of the room and I went to see what she needed. Upon my return a few minutes later, I noticed that it was time for another disk swap.

The disk was not where I had left it. I looked everywhere. I took all of the disks out of the disk file, looked under the desk -- everywhere -- and couldn't find it. I left the room, and came back, determined to retrace my steps. When I came back, the same result -- nothing. I left again, saying to myself that "enough was enough." When I came back, my first impulse was to check the disk file again. I flipped down the first disk in the file -- and there it was -- backwards. At that instant, I felt an incredible feeling of dread and could swear that I heard a faint, but amused laugh.

Stories like this appear in my e-mailbox on a regular basis -- common examples of disappearing object phenomena (DOP). Typically, DOP involves an object that the person had just been using or that they invariably keep in one particular place. When they go to use the object, it is gone. The person looks high and low for the object, often getting others involved in the search, but it cannot be found. A short time later, or perhaps the next day, the person is surprised to find the object returned to the spot where it is always kept or in some other obvious place where the search should have found it.

What happened here? Where did the object go? Why did it "disappear"? How was it returned? What forces are at work in this highly strange yet relatively commonplace phenomenon?

There are several possibilities, from the mundane to the peculiar to the profoundly bizarre -- both psychological and paranormal.

ANSENTMINDEDNESS

[My] latest loss is a nice birthday card that my husband printed out for my mother. I showed it to everyone, then left it on the kitchen table overnight so I could send it the next day. It's gone. No one has seen it, no one remembers moving it, and we still haven't found it, although we've looked all over the house....

When examining such occurrences as DOP, we must first consider the most ordinary possibility: that the person simply misplaced the object or forgot where he/she put it. This, in fact, probably accounts for the vast majority of reported DOPs. For example, a woman always puts her hairbrush in the same place on her dressing table, but now is not there. It's quite possible that, being distracted somehow, she absentmindedly carried it to another room and put it down on a table.

Naturally, when she goes to look for the brush she's astonished that it's not on the dressing table. And she'll most likely look all around the dressing table since that is where it is always kept. She might not even think to look in the other room on the table because... why in the world would she ever do such a thing? Yet things like this probably happen more often than we imagine.

This DOP possibility falls apart when the hairbrush is later found on the dressing table in its usual spot. Unless the woman was experiencing temporary blindness with regard to this one object, then other possibilities must be considered.

THE BORROWER

Here's another mundane, but highly possible cause that we must consider if we are to investigate DOP seriously. When the hairbrush has vanished from the dressing table, after her initial search, the woman would quite likely question other members of the household. Even though they might deny up and down that they borrowed the hairbrush, it's very plausible that a family member did, in fact, borrow the item.

Seeing that mom is upset, and perhaps not wanting to get into trouble for borrowing an item they know they shouldn't touch, they'll deny taking it. Then, when mom is elsewhere in the house, the borrower sneaks back to the dressing table and returns the brush. And when mom returns to the scene of the "crime," the brush has amazingly returned to its proper spot. And a household mystery is born.

This possibility can be eliminated, of course, if the person lives alone or when other family members are not around when the DOP occurs.

The "absentminded" and "borrower" possibilities aren't as exciting or intriguing as those that follow, but they probably solve a majority of DOP cases. We must remember that any paranormal investigation must first rule out the most likely, if pedestrian, explanations for what seems like an unexplainable event. Only then can we consider more unusual possibilities.

POLTERGEIST

I have all of my grandmother's jewelry boxes and most of her jewelry. Many times I would forget and leave my jewelry out on my dresser or counter, and in the morning they would be gone from the dresser or counter and in one of the jewelry boxes.

When disappearing object phenomena (DOP) occur, a lot of people blame a poltergeist, if only half seriously. A poltergeist is usually defined as a mischievous or noisy spirit.

Poltergeist activity often includes unexplained noises, music, smells and movement of objects. So when that hairbrush disappears, some people think, it must be because of a poltergeist.

And some might have more reason to think a poltergeist is responsible than others. This might be the case if the hairbrush incident is not an isolated one.

 If the person finds that objects are "disappearing" or being moved on a regular basis, for example. Or if there are other phenomena, such as unexplained smells and noises that the person can associate with the missing item.

Sometimes the particular item has a history that gives the person the idea that a spirit is involved. For instance, a watch that belonged to a grandfather might be found to be moved to a certain place on its own -- the sort of place that grandfather usually kept it. Or like the case of the grandmother's jewelry above.

Even though it seems likely to the person that a spirit or poltergeist is responsible, it is still unknown what a poltergeist really is. In the case of DOP, is it an actual spirit that has somehow become attached to the object and by some force that science cannot yet explain moves or borrows the object?

Or does the activity arise from the person's subconscious and their emotional relationship to the object and its original owner?

TEMPORARY INVISIBILITY

It was the night of my freshman homecoming. I had brought three dresses a few days or so before and was planning on wearing the simple black and white one. Nothing fancy. I went to my closet an hour or so before the dance to get ready... and the dress wasn't in my closet. Nowhere in my closet, not even with the other two dresses. My mom and I searched everywhere but still couldn't find it.

My mom finally said I had to wear one of the others... and so I chose one of the white ones. A day or so after the dance, I went to my closet to find a shirt... and the black and white dress I was going to wear to the dance was the first piece of clothing on the rack. Go figure.

Let's again take the example of the woman and her hairbrush. She believes she placed it on the dressing table as always, but it is gone and she has thoroughly looked for it. There's no one else in the house who could have borrowed it. A while later, it's back on the dressing table. It was Sherlock Holmes in The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet who said, "It is an old maxim of mine that when you have excluded the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Okay, Mr. Holmes, here's an improbable explanation: the hairbrush -- or the girl's dress -- temporarily became invisible.

There is no scientific hypothesis that allows for an object to become invisible and then, after a time, become visible again. Yet that is exactly the effect as perceived by some DOP experiencers. And if this temporary invisibility is somehow possible, it raises many questions: How or for what reason does a specific object become invisible? Does the effect have something to do with the person's regular or intimate use of the object? Is it a physical effect produced by some unknown mechanics of the human mind?

Sometimes this "invisibility" can be a strictly psychological phenomenon. The object is really there, but our attention is so diverted that we literally don't see it. Don't believe me? Check out the Selective Attention Test.

DIMENSIONAL SHIFT

I looked everywhere for my car keys. I looked everywhere in the kitchen and living room - just everywhere! Then all of a sudden I heard keys drop in the kitchen. I went in and there they were on the ground.

The existence of dimensions other than the three we jostle around in every day is theorized by science. Sometimes referred to as "other planes of existence" by the more spiritually minded, these dimensions are sometimes thought of as places where spirits and other forms of reality might reside. Could the temporary invisibility or movement of objects be explained by their slipping into another dimension? Is some kind of dimensional or temporal shift to blame? It's a pretty far-out notion, but then a genuine DOP experience is hard to explain.

Even when the rational explanations are ruled out, there are still enough intriguing DOP experiences remaining to remind us that there is much more to this life, this reality than we are currently aware.

And here, I suppose, is one more possibility:

The first thing I think of when that [DOP] happens is faeries, since one of the places I lived in had some. They tended to take things and then give them back later. One time, in full view of a number of people, I was getting ready to leave the apartment, and since I was always in the habit of misplacing my keys, no faeries needed, I had taken to hanging them on a heavy "biker wallet" chain and had some jangly brass keytags to boot. They weren't where I'd put them, and I had to leave.

So I hollered, "Okay, guys, this isn't funny. I need my keys NOW!" My friends were watching as they materialized out of thin air above the shelf I had my phone answering machine on and clattered to the shelf.

The nature of the human biological field (Biofield) and its relationship to the Earth’s field is a rapidly developing area of neuroscience research. Several recent studies of Michael Persinger and others at Laurentian University indicate that our thoughts may not be all that private after all. That we share our neurological patterns with others close to us, with the electric and magnetic field of the Earth, possibly even with the Milky Way Galaxy.

The space between the Earth’s surface and the Ionosphere forms a cavity filled with the Earth’s electromagnetic field which at extremely low frequencies forms a series of standing waves. Those waves (electric and magnetic) are energized by lightning strikes and have resonant peaks around 8Hz, 14, 21 and 27, named after their discoverer, Schumann Resonances.

Less known is that similar resonance frequencies occur in the human brain. More, that the electric field component of the Schumann resonance closely matches that of the brain. With the field frequencies and amplitudes showing such a close match, Persinger and his associates suggested that there could be a flow of information between the human brain and the Earth’s field. Perhaps the Earth’s field could store our thoughts. Other people may be able to reach into that field and pick up the thoughts.

In a recent experiment, 41 subjects had their electric brain patterns monitored and correlated with Schumann changes in the Earth’s field measured by an observatory in Italy.

The brain patterns of the subjects showed transient correlations to the Earth’s field. This implies that a component of our brain’s signal moves coherently in step with the Earth’s field. The duration of the coherence was around 300 milliseconds, as fast as a typical “flash of intuition”. Could some of our intuitions come from information we extract from the Earth’s field?

Parsinger suggests that biophotons may be the agent for information transfer. In previous experiments, reported on this site, he showed how volunteers generated photons around the head by thinking about light -- photons originating in electrical processes in the brain cells. Such biophotons are also emitted coherently from cancer cells. In deep sleep, our brain patterns tend to resonate with the Earth’s field making us more susceptible to information transfer.

If our brain patterns, and our thoughts are linked with the Earth’s field, then our thoughts may not be as private as we supposed. Previous studies by Persinger showed that Theta brain patterns of siblings, and people who are in frequent contact tend to synchronize. The anecdotal stories of couples who appear to have frequent telepathic incidents may have some basis in hard science.

We may be sending our thoughts out into the Earth’s field where others can catch them.

Egypt on Saturday said there is a 90 per cent chance that hidden chambers will be found within King Tutankhamun's tomb, based on the preliminary results of a new exploration of the 3,300-year-old mausoleum.

Researchers say the discovery of a new chamber could shine new light on one of ancient Egypt's most turbulent times, and one prominent researcher has theorized that the remains of Queen Nefertiti might be inside.

Egypt began the search for the hidden chamber last week. Announcing the results of three days of testing in the southern city of Luxor, Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el-Damaty said the findings will be sent to Japan for a month-long analysis before the search is resumed.

Luxor, in southern Egypt, served as the pharaonic capital in ancient times, and is home to sprawling temples and several ancient tombs.

British Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves theorizes that Tutankhamun, better known as King Tut, who died at the age of 19, may have been rushed into an outer chamber of what was originally Nefertiti's tomb. Famed for her beauty, Nefertiti was the subject of a famous 3,300-year-old bust.

Reeves reached his theory after high-resolution images discovered what he said were straight lines in King Tut's tomb. These lines, previously hidden by color and the stones' texture, indicate the presence of a sealed chamber, he said. The images were later broadcast live on national television last September.

Nefertiti was the primary wife of the Pharaoh Akhenaten, who unsuccessfully attempted to switch Egypt to an early form of monotheism. Akhenaten was succeeded by a pharaoh referred to as Smenkhare and then Tut, who is widely believed to have been Akhenaten's son.

Tut, Nefertiti, and Akhenaten's family ruled Egypt during one of its most turbulent times, which ended with a military takeover by Egypt's top general at the time, Horemheb. The whole family's names were wiped out from official records later on.

Reeves believes that Smenkhare is actually Nefertiti.

This is the second find to be announced this week. On Tuesday, el-Damaty said the Austrian Archaeological Institute discovered a "giant fence" dating back over 3,500 years at the site of another ancient capital city, Avaris. The sandstone fence is least 500 meters (yards) long and 7 meters (yards) thick, antiquities official Mahmoud Afifi said.

Edmond Halley – where are you when we need you? New photographs from the Dawn space probe orbiting the dwarf planet Ceres show that its south pole is completely black. Is this a hole that leads into a hollow Ceres? If so, what could be in it? Another world, as Halley suggested? UFOs? Alien life forms? Nazis?

The photographs of Ceres’ north and south poles were taken from August 17th to October 23rd, 2015, from its current orbit 1,470 km (915 miles) above the surface. Those of the north pole clearly show craters (Jarovit, Ghanan and Asari), mountains (Ysolo Mons) and other prominent features. Those of the south pole show a large pitch black area. NASA’s official explanation is that Ceres’ south pole has been in the shade since Dawn arrived (isn’t that an oxymoron?) on March 6th and that’s why it look likes a gaping hole. Nothing to see here … move along.

After observing that the direction of the Earth’s magnetic field changed over time, Halley proposed that the planet was hollow and held nested spheres that caused the variations. Based on that, he believed the hollow Earth contained other life forms and a luminous atmosphere which, when it escaped through holes at the poles, caused the aurora borealis. Would he believe the same about Ceres?

Other hollow Earth theories include that of Marshall Gardner, who proposed that the discovery in 1846 of a frozen woolly mammoth in Siberia was proof the creatures were not extinct but lived in a hollow planet and came up through a hole at the North Pole. Cyrus Reed Teed formed a religion based on the belief that people lived on the inside surface of a hollow Earth (which geometrically has the same surface area as the outside) that contained a small half-dark/half-light sun.

Then there’s the various theories such as that the Nazis were a separate race who came from the hollow Earth or Hitler escaped death and set up a base for flying saucers in the hole at the South Pole or Admiral Byrd flew into the hollow Earth and met a humanoid.

Far-fetched? Possibly, but so are explanations like “it’s just shade” or “the space station camera just accidentally turned itself off.”

Is the dark spot on Ceres just a dark spot? Is Ceres hollow? Is this the real reason why NASA chose to visit Ceres? What do you think the dark area on Ceres might be?
