The Hidden World #6

DISCOVER THE TRUTH ABOUT THE INNER EARTH AND THE STRANGE CREATURES THAT DWELL WITHIN!

Since 1943 the complete realities of the Shaver and other Inner Earth Mysteries have been withheld; now here is the whole TRUTH at last -- and nothing but the truth in this reprint of a rare collection.

Richard Shaver claims to have knowledge of an underground race of beings known as the Dero who have for centuries continued to torment surface dwellers with their ancient death and mind control rays.

Skeptics ridiculed Shaver and editor Ray Palmer when the original articles started to appear in what was supposed to be a science fiction magazine, but thousand of readers contacted Amazing Stories and said they had contact with underworld dwellers themselves and provided all sorts of weird experience to establish their claims.

The circulation of the magazine rose by 30 percent and ran articles by Shaver for years before Palmer was told by the powers that be to cancel any further stories on the subject.

In the 1960s, Palmer now defunct Amherst Press released 16 volumes of rare Shaver material. The books, when available, now sell for approximately $80 each. We are reprinting each of the 16 volumes one at a time for collectors at a very moderate price.

The Hidden World Number 6 contains: Two Torrid Tales by Richard Shaver- ENTERING THE SECRET VAULTS OF THE ELDERS, and, THE LORELEI - BEAUTIFUL FEMALE SEDUCERS WHO LURE MEN TO AN UNTIMELY END!

You will also find...The Hollow World and the Ten Lost Tribes, Readers Reactions to Voices in the Caves, and a special introduction by Dennis Crenshaw.

This incredible book is now available exclusively for Conspiracy Journal subscribers at the special price of only $22.00, plus $5.00 shipping.  This deal won't last long...so get your copy NOW before it is TOO LATE!

Chile Earthquake: Is Mother Nature Out of Control?

Chile is on a hotspot of sorts for earthquake activity. And so the 8.8-magnitude temblor that shook the capital region overnight was not a surprise, historically speaking. Nor was it outside the realm of normal, scientists say, even though it comes on the heels of other major earthquakes.

One scientist, however, says that relative to a time period in the past, the Earth has been more active over the past 15 years or so.

The Chilean earthquake, and the tsunami it spawned, originated on a hot spot known as a subduction zone, where one plate of Earth's crust dives under another. It's part of the very active "Ring of Fire," a zone of major crustal plate clashes that surround the Pacific Ocean.

"This particular subduction zone has produced very damaging earthquakes throughout its history," said Randy Baldwin, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The world's largest quake ever recorded, magnitude 9.5, occurred along the same fault zone in May 1960.

Even so, magnitude-8 earthquakes occur globally, on average, just once a year. Since magnitudes are given on a logarithmic scale, an 8.8-magnitude is much more intense than a magnitude 8, and so this event would be even rarer, said J. Ramón Arrowsmith, a geologist at Arizona State University.

Is Earth shaking more?

The Ryukyu Islands of Japan were hit with a 7.0-magnitude quake just last night. News of this, the Haiti quake and now Chile make it seem Earth is becoming ever more active. But in the grand scheme of things, geologists say this is just Mother Nature as usual.

"From our human perspective with our relatively short and incomplete memories and better and better communications around the world, we hear about more earthquakes and it seems like they are more frequent," Arrowsmith said. "But this is probably not any indication of a global change in earthquake rate of significance."

Coupled with better communication, as the human population skyrockets and we move into more hazardous regions, we're going to hear more about the events that do occur, Arrowsmith added.

However, "relative to the 20-year period from the mid 1970's to the mid 1990's, the Earth has been more active over the past 15 or so years," said Stephen S. Gao, a geophysicist at Missouri University of Science & Technology. "We still do not know the reason for this yet. Could simply be the natural temporal variation of the stress field in the earth's lithosphere." (The lithosphere is the outer solid part of the Earth.)

And while the Chilean earthquake wasn't directly related to Japan's 7.0-magnitude temblor, the two have some factors in common.

For one, any seismic waves that did make their way from Japan to the Chilean coast could play a slight role in ground-shaking.

"It is too far away for any direct triggering, and those distances also make the seismic waves as they would pass by from the Haiti or Japan events pretty small because of attenuation," Arrowsmith told LiveScience. (Attenuation is the decrease in energy with distance.) "Nevertheless, if the Chilean fault surface were close to failure, those small waves could push it even closer."

In addition, both regions reside within the Ring of Fire, which is a zone surrounding the Pacific Ocean where the Pacific tectonic plate and other plates dive beneath other slabs of Earth. About 90 percent of the world's earthquakes occur along this arc. (The next most seismic region, where just 5 to 6 percent of temblors occur, is the Alpide belt, which extends from the Mediterranean region eastward.)

Colliding plates

The Chilean earthquake occurred at the boundary between the Nazca and South American tectonic plates. These rocky slabs are converging at a rate of 3 inches (80 mm) per year, according to the USGS. This huge jolt happened as the Nazca plate moved down and landward below the South American plate. This is called a subduction zone when one plate subducts beneath another.

(Over time, the overriding South American Plate gets lifted up, creating the towering Andes Mountains.)

The plate movement explains why coastal Chile has such a history of powerful earthquakes. Since 1973, 13 temblors of magnitude 7.0 or greater have occurred there, according to the USGS.

In fact, today’s earthquake originated about 140 miles (230 km) north of the source region of the magnitude 9.5 earthquake of May, 1960, considered the largest instrumentally recorded earthquake in the world.

The 1960 earthquake killed 1,655 people in southern Chile, unleashing a tsunami that crossed the Pacific and killed 61 people in Hawaii, Japan, and the Philippines.

In November 1922, a magnitude-8.5 earthquake occurred about 540 miles (870 km) to the north of the Feb. 27 earthquake, triggering a local tsunami that inundated the Chile coast and crossed the Pacific to Hawaii.

Because the recent one was such a huge earthquake, the shaking would likely have caused just as much damage had a similar-sized event occurred elsewhere, said Baldwin, the USGS scientist.

"If [the quake] were in Los Angeles you'd probably have massive destruction too," Baldwin said in a telephone interview.

Strange Earth-Lights Preceded Chilean Earthquake?

Less than 24 hours after the premiere of the new National Geographic program Paranatural, which featured my colleagues and I from the L.E.M.U.R. team studying atmospheric phenomenon and Earth lights in Western North Carolina, news is beginning to surface regarding similar phenomenon said to have occurred just prior to the recent 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile.

One of the most credible reports of such phenomenon stems from a Chilean news reporter, Cecelia Lagos, who was interviewed by MSNBC and CNN networks. Lagos described “seeing the sky change colors outside her window as her house shook.” Lagos describes “I saw through my window, while I was still in bed, I saw the sky changing colors, it was absolutely surreal. I really thought it was the end of the world…I don’t know I hope you understand me because I’m not exaggerating really because I saw it through my window like that. That was the most terrifying thing seeing the sky changing colors with the terribly, amazingly, strong movement of the earth, I thought, ok…this is mother earth… the earth opened up and buildings crumbled into the earth …like in the movie 2012…”

Obvious comparisons have begun to be made to 2012 prophecies, especially with the apparent recent proclivity for earthquakes around the world at present. One observer in the Western United States (who prefers to remain anonymous) shared the following observations with the Gralien Report:

We (not necessarily you) are living right on the fault here, and a lot of us cannot sleep lately, at all. By ‘a lot’ I mean like 60% of the people I know around here, and by ‘lately’ I mean the past 45 days. There are a lot of other symptoms besides sleep loss. Here’s the basic problem however. The USGS maps have, for about the past 60 days, shown a shocking upsurge in activity to put it lightly. At least a 400% increase in earthquakes in general. Zero warnings from the USGS. There’s a lot to this story and it began prior to Haiti when I started telling people that the USGS maps showed that the ENTIRE PACIFIC PLATE was in motion and no one was paying attention! People utterly scoffed at me. Then we had a 4.0 in milpitas. Some days later, -while I was writing a craigslist post- asking people to prepare and explaining this situation, there was a 6.5 off the coast of Eureka. Then, short time later, Haiti 1.

Doctors in our area do not know what’s happening and are starting to seriously wonder, because -everyone- has been sick, mothers and children more than the men in general (children are more sensitive and women have -wombs- essentially a natural Earthquake detector). None of the people I know have connected their malaise to the plate activity, and usually when I suggest it they simply look sickly or yell at me. This isn’t going to work.

Meanwhile, scientists have discovered a new ‘deep tremor phenomenon’ which essentially indicates a likely 9.0 quake somewhere near puget sound in short order.

While it is wrong to stir panic unnecessarily, I consider it absurd to remain silent when something this obvious and this serious is clearly happening right now. There are probably other causal factors, maybe many, but this particular vector appears common, obvious, and largely unacknowledged – probably due to these factors.

Certainly, large amounts of geomagnetic activity could be a factor in sickness or other disorientation that might occur in conjunction with (or in this case, leading up to) earthquakes. Similar to the earlier reports of colored lights and strange phenomenon reported earlier in Chile, are any readers privy to information regarding similar illuminations or other activty occurring in the Western United States?

Exploring The "Hidden World" Series Of Richard Shaver
By Sean Casteel

The incredible story of Richard Shaver and his underground race of demonic fiends, creatures he claimed live deep below us and are said to have hijacked wonderful inventions like UFOs from alien visitors eons ago, has almost never been completely told. But thanks to researchers and publishers like Timothy Green Beckley, who believes that not every strange object seen in the sky has to be from outer space, an entire series of books has been saved from obscurity after a half century in oblivion and has once again been brought into the light of day.

"The Hidden World," volumes one through six, are part of a set of sixteen original books that were first published in the 1960s and have become rare collector’s items since that time, often selling for as much as $80 per volume through rare book dealers. The books – all around 200 pages long, with colorful covers and printed in large format editions – detail a vast underground world hidden from view and known only to a handful of surface dwellers, mortals who are thought to be utterly mad because they claim to hear voices being projected at them by the ancient "telog" machines operated by the "dero."

And who are the dero? To find that answer, one must go back nearly seventy years to a moment when, by some otherworldly form of literary grace, Richard Shaver’s sloppily typed manuscript was rescued from total oblivion by an editor with acute hearing who was somehow fated to bring to light a mystery that still thrives among some Inner Earth enthusiasts even now in the 21st century.

The story goes like this: It was December of 1943. A man named Ray Palmer was an editor for a magazine publishing house called Ziff-Davis and in charge of several pulp magazines. One day at work, he heard another editor drop a letter in his trashcan with the words, "The world is sure full of crackpots!" Palmer was to write later that he could hear the other editor’s contemptuous remark through the wall between their offices and that he decided to look at the letter himself.

The letter contained a key to understanding an ancient language called Mantong, said to be the father tongue of all human languages on earth. After experimenting a little with some of the claims made about the alphabet of Mantong, and being surprised to see that the letter writer’s theories were indeed correct, even when working with languages other than English, Palmer decided to publish the letter.

"The results made publishing history," Palmer later wrote, "insofar as pulp magazines were concerned. Many hundreds of letters poured in, and the net result was a letter to Richard S. Shaver asking him where he got his alphabet. The answer was in the form of a 10,000 word manuscript, typed with what was certainly the ultimate non-ability at the typewriter, and entitled ‘A Warning To Future Man.’"

Palmer read Shaver’s manuscript and marveled that Shaver was making no attempt to "sell" his work but instead seemed to be operating out of a sincere desire to warn mankind about the underground race Shaver called "the dero." Dero was a combination of the words "degenerate" and "robot," and those wicked dwellers inside the earth were to be described in exacting detail by Shaver for many years to come.

Palmer took Shaver’s lengthy letter and used it as the basis for a 31,000 word article called "I Remember Lemuria!" and published it in the magazine "Amazing Stories." Palmer continued to publish Shaver’s work for many years, often to the dismay of his magazine’s loyal readership, who expected to read the latest pulp science fiction stories, not an allegedly nonfiction piece that seemed to be the ravings of a semi-literate lunatic.

But there were also those readers who took Shaver’s account very much to heart, and the magazines bearing Shaver’s stories on the cover sold phenomenally well, to the extent that the magazine exhausted its wartime ration of pulp paper and could not print enough copies to meet the demand.

It is that element of the reading public who responded so enthusiastically to Shaver’s claims that concerns us here. Shaver had tapped into something, a way of viewing the world and its inherent evil, that struck a chord deep inside many thousands of people who could relate to his story, no matter how bizarre, as being within the realm of their own experience.

And just what was Shaver’s story? What had happened to him that in the telling moved so many people to say they’d been there as well? As Shaver himself relates it in an early chapter of "The Hidden World, Number One," he was working on an automobile assembly line in Detroit using a spot welder in the early 1940s when he began to hear voices that seemed to be emanating from his welding tool. At first he thought it was a fellow worker nearby, but he soon realized he was hearing something decidedly more telepathic, the inner thoughts of the men who toiled beside him. From there, he began to hear the voices of people being tormented, screaming in agony and begging for mercy – like the sounds of hell itself.

His next move was to try to flee the voices. He left his home in Detroit and traveled elsewhere, but the voices followed him wherever he went. He came to understand that the voices were being projected from an underground world and that the voices knew he was listening and were planning his destruction. Admittedly it all sounds like the typical delusions of a paranoid schizophrenic, but when you factor in the story’s popularity with readers, you are forced to take another look at it from a more sympathetic angle.

Most people, while they are understandably hesitant to admit it, would likely agree that they have at some time suffered the oppression of evil forces one might compare to Shaver’s "dero." No one, it seems, has been exempted from a kind of mistreatment that appears somehow to come from another part of existence we cannot define and certainly cannot control. People’s personal demons usually seem real enough to them, but talking about them openly is rarely done in polite company. Shaver crossed that line, risking ridicule and public shame, and surprisingly received a resounding response from fellow sufferers who knew exactly where he was coming from.

The monsters called the dero were the completely insane remnant of a race that had existed before mankind on earth. The rays of the sun began to pour down harmful radiation, so some of the earlier race escaped in ships while the less fortunate among them were forced to go underground and live in a system of caves that had existed since the beginning of time.

The dero retreated too late to spare themselves from the madness caused by the poisonous rays of the sun, but they did manage to take with them many of the super-advanced machines their race had developed. With these machines they were able to cause evil and madness on the surface where mankind had come to dwell. They could force hapless humans to do unspeakably wicked things to their fellow man. The dero also possessed a form of technology called "Stem" that could induce deviant sexual feelings in surface dwellers and lead them to acts of perversion and rape. Mankind had always had its own capacity to sin, but the dero caused that evil to rise to monstrous extremes.

This was what Shaver was laboring so hard to warn mankind about, to alert them to the very real presence of an egregious enemy lurking beneath their feet. He would spend the rest of his life in this effort, writing many thousands of words to further elaborate on his claims. As mentioned earlier, Timothy Beckley, the publisher of the "Hidden World" series, has gathered together a huge portion of the writings of Shaver and his mentor Ray Palmer into a sixteen-volume set, of which the first six volumes are currently available. When it is completed, it will be the most thorough document of what has come to be called the Shaver Mysteries ever compiled.

Volume One includes Ray Palmer’s firsthand account of how he discovered Shaver’s initial letter and made the momentous decision to actually publish it. Palmer also recounts visiting Shaver and his wife in their home; Palmer actually heard a few mysterious voices himself during his stay there. One can also read Shaver’s account of how he first began to hear the voices of the dero in his own words. The complete text of "I Remember Lemuria!" is also included in Volume One, so that the reader can experience firsthand the story that launched Shaver into the pulp magazine stratosphere.

About his reading public, Shaver writes, "To me, struggling to find an opening out of the morass (no longer just for myself, but now for all mankind), the flood of letters I received from other sufferers was a crushing blow, bringing hopeless despair. The caverns were not, I realized now, a localized thing – they extended underneath every area of the earth. The evidence of their activity and strength piled up, until I could not help but conclude that there is no answer for present day man. He cannot break their power over him, nor remedy the ills they visit upon him."

Shaver also writes in a similar pessimistic way about the UFOs, which first received worldwide attention with Kenneth Arnold’s sighting in 1947, a few brief years after the publication of "I Remember Lemuria!"

"The visits of the saucers bring with them, for me, fresh despair. For I see them as proof of the caverns’ contact with space. Knowing the cave people, I know that if any of the visiting saucers were benevolent visitors bringing gifts and scientific knowledge to the surface people, they would be destroyed. To me, that explains the failure to contact our surface government, because those saucers that are not destroyed are our ancient enemies."

What Shaver is talking about is something similar to a concept first put forth by alien abduction researcher Budd Hopkins. Hopkins coined the phrase "confirmation anxiety" to describe what happens when an abductee finds proof of the reality of his experiences, such as seeing a mark left behind on his body after recalling that a skin sample has been taken during an abduction episode. A person needs to have some part of his mind in a state of doubt to function as a hiding place where he can call what he has experienced unreal. Since an abductee is often in a dreamlike state while the experience is happening, he has the luxury of filing the experience away in the "unknown basket" and maintaining a more normal connection with everyday reality. When something happens to drive the troublesome memory into a place where the abductee cannot deny that something frightening and strange has really happened to him after all, when his dreams are "confirmed" for him, a whole new kind of anxiety kicks in.

For Shaver, the mass outpouring of letters his writings received and the coming of the flying saucers a few years after his story was made public were not a consolation or a vindication but rather an unimpeachable testimony to the reality of his tormenting voices. He suffered despair on a whole new level, because now there really was nowhere to run, no way to deny the widespread nature of a phenomenon he half-hoped was a misfortune limited to just himself alone.

But of course there remains an audience eager to know about the mysteries that so burdened Shaver. Timothy Beckley of Global Communications has made a sort of cottage industry out of interest in the Inner and Hollow Earth theories, saving some old and rare books from obscurity and publishing up-to-date compendiums written by more recent researchers. His most popular titles dealing with this subject include: "Twilight, Hidden Chambers Beneath The Earth," by T. Lobsang Rampa; "Underground Alien Bio Lab At Dulce: The Bennewitz UFO Papers"; "Admiral Byrd’s Secret Journey Beyond The Poles," by Tim Swartz; "Reality Of The Serpent Race And The Subterranean Origin Of UFOs," by Branton; "Best Of The Hollow Earth Hassle," by Mary J. Martin; and "Finding Lost Atlantis Inside The Hollow Earth," by the late British writer Brinsely Le Poer Trench, the Earl of Clancarty.

And so it is left to us, decades after the deaths of Shaver and Palmer, to try to pick up the pieces and understand Shaver’s torture in ways that can help us to deal with the very vocal evils of our own time. And Global Communications’ ambitious reprinting of the complete writings of Richard Shaver can help us in that endeavor, one volume at a time.

MoD: UFOs are Not a Military Threat

Exclusive documents: The UFO hotline was closed in November last year because the MoD believes UFOs are not a threat to national security.

They might be out there, but they are not a threat to the UK. That is the official reason why the UFO hotline was shut down as the Ministry of Defence looked to cut costs.

Responding to a Freedom of Information request by Dr David Clarke, a lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, the MoD memo dated 11 November states: "In more than fifty years no UFO sighting reported to the Department has indicated the existence of any military threat to the UK."

The secret document, exclusively revealed to Channel 4 News, goes on: "The level of resources devoted to this task is increasing in response to a recent upsurge in reported sightings, diverting staff from more valuable Defence-related activities."

Dr Clarke told Channel 4 News he thought it was a big mistake that the UFO hotline was being shut down. "It's misguided. This subject will not go away," he said.

"Sooner or later they'll be a big sighting, by someone like an airline pilot, and they'll be a huge public outcry into why no one is looking into them."

Sightings of UFOs were first recorded during the Second World War by fighter pilots. In 1950 the "Flying saucer working party" was set up to look into the phenomena but now future sightings will no longer be recorded.

And according to the United States' defense website, UFO sightings will no longer being investigated by the US government. Any new sightings reported in the UK will be retained for 30 days, and then destroyed.

This stance was adopted so defence officials would not have to publish the information in response to freedom of information (FoI) requests or pass it to the National Archives.

The memo, dated November 11, 2009, sets out the MoD's reasons for shutting its UFO unit and ceasing to invite the public to send in details of sightings.

It notes that the number of reports the department received soared last year, taking up extra resources and diverting staff from ''more valuable'' defence-related activities.

The official document covers what defence officials should do when they receive reports of UFOs in the future.

It says: ''Reported sightings received from other sources should be answered by a standard letter and... should be retained for 30 days and then destroyed, largely removing any future FoI liability and negating the need to release future files post-November 30 2009.''

The memo reveals that MoD chiefs made a point of not discussing their plans to close the UFO unit with other countries because of fears this could be perceived as part of a global cover-up.

It states: ''We have deliberately avoided formal approaches to other Governments on this issue.

''Such approaches would become public when the relevant UFO files are released, and would be viewed by 'ufologists' as evidence of international collaboration and conspiracy.''

Nick Pope, who investigated UFOs for the Ministry of Defence from 1991 to 1994 told Channel 4 News it is a "tragedy" new sightings will end up being shredded instead of heading to the National archives.

"What will happen is that the media will fill the gap, the civilian UFO groups will step in, but you'll have no one drawing this all together," he said. "Whether you believe in UFOs or not, it is one of the great mysteries of our time... A mystery we're less likely to solve than would've been the case."

Whilst working at the MoD, Mr Pope said up to five per cent of reported sightings were never explained. And as to whether any sightings did pose a threat to national security, he added: "My view is that if something is spotted in British airspace by radar or by a pilot it must be by default of defence interest."

NASA Radar Detects Ice-Filled Craters on Moon

Scientists have detected more than 40 ice-filled craters in the Moon's North Pole using data from a NASA radar that flew aboard India's Chandrayaan-I.

NASA's Mini-SAR instrument, lightweight, synthetic aperture radar, found more than 40 small craters with water ice. The craters range in size from 2 to 15 km in diameter.

The finding would give future missions a new target to further explore and exploit, a NASA statement said, adding it is estimated that there could be at least 600 million metric tons of water ice in the craters.

"The emerging picture from the multiple measurements and resulting data of the instruments on lunar missions indicates that water creation, migration, deposition and retention are occurring on the Moon," Paul Spudis, principal investigator of the Mini-SAR experiment at the Lunar and Planetary Institute, said yesterday.

The new discoveries show that the Moon is an even more interesting and attractive scientific, exploration and operational destination than previously thought, he said.

Aboard Chandrayaan-I, the Mini-SAR mapped the Moon's permanently-shadowed polar craters that are not visible from the earth. The radar uses the polarisation properties of reflected radio waves to characterise surface properties.

According to the findings which are being published in the latest issue of the Geophysical Research Letters journal, results from the mapping showed deposits having radar characteristics similar to ice.

"After analysing the data, our science team determined a strong indication of water ice, a finding which will give future missions a new target to further explore and exploit," Jason Crusan, program executive for the Mini-RF Program for NASA's Space Operations Mission Directorate, said.

The space agency said these results are consistent with recent findings of other NASA instruments and adds to growing scientific understanding of the multiple forms of water found on the Moon.

The agency's Moon Mineralogy Mapper discovered water molecules in the Moon's polar regions, while water vapour was detected by NASA's Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite.

Mini-SAR and Moon Mineralogy Mapper are two of 11 instruments on India's first unmanned mission to the Moon -- Chandrayaan-I.

- SAY HELLO TO MR. UFO DEPARTMENT -

An Interview with Timothy Green Beckley

Rich: How Did You Get The Name “MR UFO?”

Beckley: Well I had my first UFO sighting at the age of ten – two circular disc-shaped lights over my parents home. We watched it for about 15 or 20 minutes until one just dissolved into thin air.

I became vastly interested in the subject reading everything I could find. The first books I devoured were Flying Saucers From Outer Space by Major Donald E. Keyhoe and They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers written by a gentleman who was later to become a friend. Gray Barker wrote the first book on the Men In Black and I actually did a book review project on it in the third grade using this as the book I had selected. Little did I know that decades later I would buy the last remaining stock from the publisher after both Barker and the printer (the famous Raymond A. Palmer) had passed away. Talk about synchronicity.

Anyway, my career has been pretty much that of a writer, producer and at one time I was a freelance stringer for a bunch of the weekly tabloids as well as most of the pulp magazines around town (that being Manhattan). One day I did an interview with Ace Frehley the guitarist from the then up and coming band Kiss. Ace was the one who dressed like a starman and of course I wanted to know why. When I popped the question about his visual presentation and wanted to know if he’d ever seen a UFO, Ace surprised me by tell me about a sighting of an object streaking across the sky which he witnessed while looking at the passenger window of a jet flying to his next gig. Apparently, he has had other sightings since that one. I’ve heard tales about a landing that might have even taken place on his property in Westchester. Anyway, I would run into Ace from time to time as Kiss and a couple of the bands I was working with rehearsed at the same study on Broadway. He could never remember my name but knew I was into unidentified flying objects so he would always just say “Hey Mr UFO how are you?” I kind of liked the MR UFO thing and its stuck. And of course UFOs have been my life for so many years it only seems fitting that I cop the moniker.

Rich: I’ve noticed that you seem to have written quite a bit about the subject of the Inner and Hollow Earth -- the concept that there are entrances to a great civilization at the North and South Poles ala Jules Verne. A lot of folks would say this is just science fiction?

Beckley: Well there are several different ideas afloat here. One is that the earth is hollow complete with a central sun and inhabited by a race of super beings – probably giants – who live at the core of our planet. Entrance ways exist supposedly. The best evidence for this can be found in the purported Diary of Admiral Byrd. The great explorer says that he was escorted on one of his expeditions by flying saucers and that he met with some of these inner earth beings who are fanatical about keeping their whereabouts a secret for fear that we will take our war-like activities to their inner earth homeland. The idea of a hollow earth was very big a hundred/two hundred years ago. In fact, Jules Verne sort of snatched his idea from the likes of Gerald Gardner, Cyrus Tweed, John Cleves Symmes,_Jr., and much more recently my friend Brinsley Le Poer Trench. Starting out as a big believer in the interplanetary theory for the origin of UFOs, Trench later wrote a book which we keep in print (one of maybe 15 titles on the topic). Finding Lost Atlantis Inside The Hollow Earth is available on Amazon.com and is the culmination of Trench’s research into the flying saucer and lost worlds phenomenon. Trench became the 8th Earl of Clancarty and even invited me to speak before a special group of the House of Lords who were anxious for UFO disclosure. As part of this concept is the notion that the aurora borealis is a reflection of the inner earth sun.

If you watch the History Channel you will probably have seen some of the clips of the Nazis searching for such an entranceway. The occult branch of the SS the Thule Society was very much involved in promoting the hollow earth. There are some that claim that toward the end of the war a group of Nazi scientists, engineers and big wigs went out in search of an entrance way hoping to escape from the Axes power.

Rich: You say that there is another concept, what is that?

Beckley: Now we’re talking about the Shaver Mystery and the notion that the planet is honeycombed with caverns in which dwell a race or races of beings. This belief was fostered most rigorously by a gentleman names Richard S Shaver. His encounters with the Dero -- a race of demented creatures who roam the underground and who kidnap and torture surface-side folks – caused quite a stir when they were originally published in a science fiction pulp magazine starting in the mid 1940s. Amazing Stories was supposed to be all fantasy, but Shaver’s stories were presented as fact. Shaver claimed that the voices people heard in their head were real, and that they were being projected from underground via ancient equipment utilized in the cavern by the Dero. They also caused all manner of problems from plane crashes, to train wrecks to making world leaders go stark raving mad. It was a hell of a ride for the believers and there were many. In fact, the editor of Amazing Stories, Ray Palmer, claimed that circulation jumped by 50,000 after Shaver’s first article I Remember Lemurian was published.

I heard Shaver and Palmer when I was a kid on the all nite Long John Nebel show and I was hooked. I began corresponding with Shaver and later wrote several columns for Palmers magazines like Search, Mystic and Flying Saucers From Other Worlds. In fact, the first book I had published by Gray Barker’s Saucerian Press was on this topic. A greatly expanded and updated edition called Subterranean Worlds Inside Earth is available in probably its tenth printing from Amazon or directly from me should anyone want an autographed copy. For true Shaver Mystery and Inner Earth fans we have reprinted six of the rare volumes of The Hidden Worlds series first published in the mid 1960s, and containing thousands of pages of Shaver’s rumblings and others who backed up his bizarre tales of an inner earth reality.

Rich: Why did you decide to start the Conspiracy Journal and Bizarre Bazaar?

Beckley: Its more or less a natural progression from what I’ve done for the past 40 years and a necessity in today’s book market.. My background is in editing magazines. Over the years I have been on the editorial staff of well over 30 nationally distributed publications. Most you have never heard of! Titles like Front Page Disasters, Soap Opera Today, Moped Action (there is a hot seller if there ever was one – LOL), Future Fantasy and a bunch of slacker rock n roll zines that at least got me back stage at some pretty exciting shows.

During this time I also edited UFO Review the only flying saucer newspaper published in America with a distribution of about 30,000 copies. And there was the glossy UFO Universe and its many sister publications that I packaged for GCR publishing for over eleven years before their corp went belly up.

I started publishing UFO and other types of alternative books when I was around 14 years old. Some of these titles have sold tens of thousands of copies in one form or another. My publishing arm Inner Light/Global Communications has around 200 titles of our own, plus dvds and products from other firms and individuals. Naturally, you need places to advertise and promote such a line of merchandise. There is hardly anywhere to advertise anymore being that most of the other zines – big and small – have vanished into the Bermuda Triangle of publishing. Its tough to put out a magazine or newsletter – always has been. Especially today, when everything is free on the world wide web. Conspiracy Journal and Bizarre is a place we can interview our authors, explain what potential readers will find in a book and so forth. Its timely, and it’s all about what makes us tick – and free subs are available by dropping me an e mail at MRUFO8@hotmail.com and saying you read it here.

Rich: Who are some of the other staff at the Conspiracy Journal?

Beckley: Over the years I’ve cultivated some really excellent writers and researchers to guide us along our path. These folks have become the backbone – the life force – of our publishing house.

There is Tim Swartz who really knows what he’s talking about. He goes through a topic with a fine tooth comb to get to the heart of the matter. He is well versed in Time Travel, Teleportation, UFOs, Mind Control and above all else has garnered a reputation for being the foremost expert on the grandest wizard of all time, Nikola Tesla. We have reprinted his well received work Lost Journals of Nikola Tesla numerous times, and the latest edition by far adds a new spin on the electrical genius whose inventions are now more spoken about than when their original patents were applied for by Tesla.

Then there is Sean Casteel who has made a career as a UFO and paranormal journalist; no easy trick. Over the years he has managed to befriend the likes of Communion’s Whitley Strieber, Budd Hopkins, Dr. Leo Sprinkle and a host of other experienciers and investigators. thus enabling us to get to the bottom of the mystery much faster. He has written and edited numerous books for us, helping us to expand our library rapidly so that now we have over 200 titles, and adding more every day. Readers might want to check out Sean’s works which include MJ12 And The Ridldle of Hangar 18, UFOs, Prophecy And The End Of Time, at www.SeanCasteel.com

Next, would be my long time associate Carol Ann Rodriguez who I have known since directing the New York School of Occult Arts and Science in the 1970s. Carol is a great illustrator specializing in fantasy art. We have used her work on the covers of books like The Space Gods Speak and more recently a series of books by the late contactee Dana Howard. Up Rainbow Hill and Over The Threshold have just been released.

Our tech support comes from Bleu Ocean who keeps our computer running when they turn against us. I’ve known Bleu for several life times. He is a also well known drummer who has worked for the likes of Pink Floyd. His experiences with Mr. Bigfoot can be found in our Mysteries of Mt Shasta Home Of The Underground Dwellers And Ancient Gods.

Rounding out the Inner Circle would be William Kern otherwise known as AD man. His graphics are over the top. He does the design for Conspiracy Journal and Bizarre and has worked on a lot of titles for us, especially designing the covers of some of T Lobsang Rampa’s works like Chapters Of Life and The Saffron Robe.

In addition, we have lots of freelancers we turn to that enables us to keep our motors running, such as Britisher Nick Redfern, our Hispanic consultant Scott Corrales, long time brother in crime Brad Steiger and Dr. Wendy Lockwood.

We even have a few psychics and New Agers we turn too when called for for prophetic and other worldy advice, the most notable being Diane Tessman whose Earth Changes Bible has been in stock for many a full moon. I met Diane when she was going through a series of paranormal experiences in Florida and have kept in close touch. She even lived in Yucca Valley in the desert near Giant Rock which is the site of contactee George Van Tassel’s much remembered flying saucer conventions circa 1950s.

Rich: Do you believe everything you write about?

Beckley: Of course not. Let me put it this way, we are a platform – a forum – for lots of people to voice lots of opinions, theories and ideals. I am a publisher. I don’t have time to check out every UFO abduction, every mind control case. I myself am a bit more conservative in my thinking. I like the solid UFO cases where there is lots of documentation – the stuff maybe Keyhoe might have written about. But it’s a vast world – no lets expand it to a vast universe – and most of what we publish is never touched upon by the media, which is certainly controlling our lives since so few individuals and corporations seem to be in charge these days. There are few places to be a voice in the wilderness – well we are one of them, and always will be!

Rich: How can all these UFOs and civilizations exist without there being general public knowledge?

Beckley: Point well taken. Except, that now a days there is general public knowledge. I mean you have shows on TV like The UFO Hunters (now cancelled because it doesn’t sell enough cars?), Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State. The net is loaded with programs (which I love to listen to) like Coast to Coast AM, Radio Mysterioso.com, the Kevin Smith Show, the Paracast co-hosted by my long time buddy Gene Steinberg. The list seems to be endless. A good Podcast can really make your day.

Rich: Do you want the truth to be revealed for all to know?

Beckley: What truth are we talking about? There are so many truths. So many parallel universes, different perceptions to delve into? People are looking for cut and dried answers to say the UFO mystery – there may not be any. UFOs means unidentified flying objects. Some are not even flying. Some are in your bedroom. They come in all shapes and disguises. Things like the Kennedy Assassination and 9/11 need serious attention and I believe all the facts are being withheld.

But official disclosure about UFOs. . .NEVER, absolutely NEVER. Its too much of a hot potato. The world’s corporate governments will never come clean. Too much at risk that could topple their power base.

Rich: What do you get out of this beside a paycheck?

Beckley: Personal satisfaction. I want answers to what I’ve experienced. What were the UFOs I saw as a ten year old? How about the unusual manifestations in my home while growing up? How can you explain the coincidences that are so weird they can’t be coincidences? Is there universal force? Do we travel out of the body? What about life on other planets? Oh and hey, there have been some lean years and some hard years. Being a publisher is a tough business. Very few others have kept going for over 40 years. I’ve put a lot of hard earned elbow grease into this fight against the forces of darkness – LOL.

Rich: What will people find in the pages of “Giants In The Earth: Suppressed Archeological Evidence Proves They Once Existed?

Beckley: This is a large reference work – close to an encyclopedia on the subject that giants are not fictional characters but have a basis in reality. We collected together contributors from researchers working in various fields from all over the world. Jack In The Beanstalk is not just a children’s classic fairytale. Bones have been found indicating that these giants stood as tall as fifteen feet. Armor is in abundance and of course references in Biblical text as well as other sources exist as proof there were – and may still be – giants on the earth.

Rich: Were these giants from elsewhere?

Beckley: Some of them could very well be. My main contribution is a very long chapter on sightings of giants who have landed here in some mighty strange craft. I give the details of one sightings from Brazil of a one eyed Cyclopes who descends down to the ground on a beam of light scaring the be Jesus out of some teenagers. I also quote extensively from the research of Barry Chamish the Israeli investigator who has files full of giant reports associated with UFO sightings and landings. He associates these observations as being related to prophetic mentions of giants in Biblical text. Imprints of where they have touched the ground and walked around have been found in several areas adding proof that the sightings are very much legit.
The remains of giants have even reportedly been found in the western United States. Perhaps in or around the Grand Canyon. It’s a fascinating subject, one that hasn’t been delved into that much and from the sales it would appear that readers are as fascinated with the subject matter as I am.

Rich: One of the books from your Inner Light/Global Communications press is titled "Mysteries of Mount Shasta: Home of the Underground Dwellers And Ancient Gods". Is this a continuation of the giants theme?

Beckley: Well there are some awful large beings who have been sighted on the slops of Mount Shasta in Northern California. Its one of the most exciting places as far as paranormal phenomenon goes. The noted prophet and man who is said to live forever, Count Saint Germain has been sighted and conversations with him just above the tree line. There is even said to be an entrance to a major underground city there and the Native Americans consider the area to be sacred. UFOs are a dime a dozen and in the old days passengers on a train going by would often notice strange lights on the side of the mountain. Our mutual friend and associate Paul Dale Roberts did a well received chapter for the book not only on mysterious aerial craft seen and photographed around the area, but on encounters with the hairy beasts the locals refer to as sasquatch. There is ample evidence that something strange is going on around – and perhaps inside – Mount Shasta and it’s a fascinating subject. Lots of people travel there annually to climb the mountain and many have reported all sorts of anomalies.

Rich: Who Are Some Of The Most Interesting People You Have Met?

Beckley: That’s a hard one to answer. Celebrity wise Muhammad Ali has had more UFO sightings than anyone I can think of. 21 sightings, including a cigar shaped craft that passed over his limo while driving down the Jersey Turnpike. I met him after reading a small report in the NY Daily News how he had seen two large glowing orbs over Central Park while doing some jogging getting ready for his upcoming fight with George Foreman I think it was. I was a stringer for the Enquirer at the time and so I always asked the stars I was interviewing if they had ever had a UFO or paranormal experience. Many did.

David Bowie is someone whose music I always liked and who of course dressed like a space man when he first started out playing the character Ziggy Stardust the man from Mars. I have written about my experiences with David, his UFO beliefs, how witchcraft saved him from cocaine addiction. The story is all over the web, the original story having been posted at www.UFODigest.Com

The late punk rock performer (and sister of Peter Robbins of Bentwaters, UK fame) Helen Wheels had an interesting abduction experience and a pet boa who somehow under mysterious circumstances once got out of his glass enclosure in her Manhattan apartment.

Among the contactees I always liked Howard Menger. I just penned a 30 page article for UFO Magazine which should be out in their next issue. Howard claimed repeated meetings with flesh and blood extraterrestrials in the area outside his Highbridge, NJ home. I used to put on UFO Exposes in Arizona, Colorado and California and so I got to meet just about everyone under the sun claiming some sort of UFO encounter.

The list is almost endless. I’ve also met a bunch of scream queens while making a number of b movies under the moniker of Mr Creepo. Some of the videos such as Skin Eating Jungle Vampires and Sandy Hook Lingerie Party Massacre should be released sometime this year.

Rich: How can anyone contact you?

Beckley: Well they can go to the web site that Tim Swartz and I started quite a few years back now. www.ConspiracyJournal.com

They can sign up for our weekly internet newsletter as well as receive out latest mail order versions of the CJ and Bizarre Bazaar. In these publications we discuss the new books and videos we are producing, interview authors and hopefully give out a bit of enlightenment in addition to promoting our material. I can also be contacted directly by e mail at MRUFO8@Hotmail.com. and there are numerous shows archived out there which those who are interested may retrieve and listen to. For example www.RadioMysterioso.com and
www.TheParaCast.com

In any respect, I thank you for the opportunity to get my information across to your wonderful audience.

- THE FISH ARE FALLING DEPARTMENT -

It's Raining Fish in Australia...No Really

While the Top End and Central Australia have been battered by torrential rains, a Territory town has had fish falling from the sky.

The freak phenomena happened not once, but twice, on February 25 and 26 about 6pm at Lajamanu, about 550km southwest of Katherine.

Christine Balmer, who took photos of the fish on the ground and in a bucket, had to pinch herself when she was told ``hundreds and hundreds" of small white fish had fallen from the sky.

"It rained fish in Lajamanu on Thursday and Friday night," she said, "They fell from the sky everywhere.

"Locals were picking them up off the footy oval and on the ground everywhere.

"These fish were alive when they hit the ground."

Mrs Balmer, the aged care co-ordinator at the Lajamanu Aged Care Centre, said her family interstate thought she had lost the plot when she told them about the event.

"I haven't lost my marbles," she said, reassuring herself. "Thank god it didn't rain crocodiles."

Lajamanu sits on the edge of the Tanami Desert, hundreds of kilometres from Lake Argyle and Lake Elliott and even further from the coast. But it's not the first time the remote community has been bombarded by fins from above.

In 2004, locals reported fish falling from the sky, and in 1974, a similar incident captured international headlines.

The small white fish are believed to be spangled perch, which are very common through much of northern Australia.

Weather bureau senior forecaster Ashley Patterson said the geological conditions were perfect on Friday for a tornado in the Douglas Daly region. He said it would have been an ideal weather situation to allow the phenomena to occur - but no tornados have been reported to the authority.

"It's a very unusual event," he said. "With an updraft, (fish and water picked up) could get up high - up to 60,000 or 70,000 feet.

"Or possibly from a tornado over a large water body - but we haven't had any reports," he said.

Baden Williams, from Hermannsburg in Central Australia, said he remembered fish falling on the sports oval when he was a child.

"We had a big mob falling in Hermannsburg," he said.

"As I was growing up there as a small boy, we saw a lot of fish, just falling around on the plain as we walked.

"It's a normal thing, it's nothing unusual for us."

Mr Williams, 45, said local children would go fishing on the oval in the desert town when fish had fallen.

"I hear a lot of people talking about fish falling out of the sky - as I was getting older I saw it myself," he said.

"Lots of kids fishing in the oval. Some made spears and threw the spear.

"Last time I seen it was in '89. It was falling right in front of us, in the water, all the fish," he said.

"They thought I was crazy, but I wasn't.

"The ones that fall from the sky were 5, 10cm," Mr Williams said.

Les Dillon, 48, of Maningrida, said the Sunday Territorian story confirmed one of his own.

"In the early '80s I was at the Alice Springs Tavern Hotel and when I walked out the door I saw all those little fish, fallen out of the sky," he said.

"Yes, I had a couple of beers, six, so none of my mates believed me.

"I was really excited to see it had happened again, I rang heaps of people to let them know I had not been drunk back then, it had really happened.

"I've cut the story out of the paper, too, and carry it with me in my wallet as proof," Mr Dillon said.

Joe Ashley, 55, from Jabiru, called to say he was worried "something really spooky" was going on in the Territory and more strange things could happen soon.

"Usually fish are in the water, now they are falling out of the sky - what if anything bigger falls out of the sky next?

"It could be crocodiles, that'd be really scary," he said.
