Gregory Matloff is
a major figure in what might be called the
‘interstellar movement,’ the continuing effort to
analyze our prospects for travel to the stars.
Greg is Emeritus Associate Professor and Adjunct
Associate Professor in the Department of Physics
at New York City College of Technology as well as
Hayden Associate at the American Museum of Natural
History.
In the summer of 2011, Dr. Matloff delivered a
paper in London at the British Interplanetary
Society’s conference on the works of philosopher
and writer Olaf Stapledon, the author of Star
Maker (1937). One of Stapledon’s startling ideas
was that stars themselves might have a form of
consciousness. Greg’s presentation went to work on
the notion in light of anomalous stellar
velocities and asked what might make such an idea
possible. An excerpt of his paper on the seemingly
incredible notion follows.
The Dark Matter hypothesis has been invoked as an
explanation for the fact that stars revolve around
the centers of their galaxies faster than can be
accounted for by observable matter. After decades
of failed experimental searches, dark matter has
remained elusive. As an alternative to the Dark
Matter hypothesis, a idea first presented by
author Olaf Stapledon is developed in this paper.
Stars are considered to be conscious entities
maintaining their galactic position by their
volition.
It is shown that directed stellar radiation
pressure and stellar winds are insufficient to
account for this anomalous stellar velocity.
Previous research rules out magnetism. A published
theory of psychokinetic action that does not
violate quantum mechanics is discussed, as is the
suggestion that stellar consciousness could be
produced by a Casimir effect operating on
molecules in the stellar atmosphere.
It is shown that a discontinuity in stellar
velocities as a function of spectral class exists.
Cooler red stars in the solar neighborhood move
faster than hotter, blue stars, as would be
expected if the presence of molecules in stars was
a causative factor. Further research in
experimentally validating the psychokinetic effect
and demonstrating the role of the Casimir effect
in consciousness is required to advance the
concepts presented here beyond the hypothesis
stage.
The motions of our Sun and other stars around the
centers of their galaxies cannot be fully
accounted for the presence of observable stellar
or non-stellar matter. Possible modifications to
Einstein-Newton gravitation do not seem
appropriate since general relativity has easily
passed every experimental test to date.
Cosmologists hypothesize the existence of a
non-reactive, non-observable but gravitating
substance dubbed “dark matter” to account for the
discrepancy. Dark matter seems to out-mass
ordinary matter, according to many estimates.
But science requires observation or experimental
validation for even the most beautiful of
theoretical constructs. The continuing failure to
detect or observe candidate dark matter objects or
particles presents astrophysics with a very
serious anomaly. Perhaps, as was the case in the
late 19th century with the failure to confirm the
ether hypothesis, the solution to the dark matter
paradox may require a change in paradigm.
Here, we reintroduce a 1937-vintage hypothesis of
the British philosopher/science-fiction author
Olaf Stapledon. In his monumental visionary novel
Star Maker, Stapledon develops the thesis that
stars are conscious and their motions around the
galactic center are due to voluntary stellar
adherence to the canons of a cosmic dance. This is
admittedly an extraordinary hypothesis. But if
dark matter remains elusive and undetected no
matter how expensive and elaborate the equipment
seeking it, exotic alternatives cannot be
dismissed out of hand.
Defining consciousness is not easy. We are all
rather certain of our own consciousness and
relatively convinced that other humans are
conscious as well. Most would agree that whales,
dolphins, chimps, cats and dogs are conscious
organisms as well. But how about snakes, corn,
amoeba, and bacteria? Do in fact the mechanisms
that support consciousness in the higher animals,
in fact, require billions of years of organic
evolution to develop? Or does consciousness in
some form permeate the entire universe?
Some, like Walker, conclude that consciousness
cannot be defined. Instead, it must be thought of
as the immediate experience of the world around us
and our internal thoughts and emotions. Bohm
believes that conscious thought is a process
rather than an object. Kafatos and Nadeau argue
that this process in some perhaps pantheistic
sense permeates the entire universe. Many theories
have developed to fit this elusive phenomenon into
the framework of physical science.
The concepts developed in this paper accept that
consciousness, like gravitation, is built into the
structure of the universe. Like gravitation, it
cannot be explained by invoking fields or matter
independently but requires the interaction of
both.
Many of the quantum-physics-based theories of
organic consciousness postulate that a universal
consciousness field interacts with electrically
conducting nanostructures within the cell or
nervous system. In higher animals (such as humans)
the ~20-nm inter-synaptic spacing in the brain’s
neuronal structure have been suggested and
analyzed by Evan Harris Walker as locations of the
quantum-level events contributing to
consciousness. But all living eukaryotic cells
contain microtubules. As suggested by Lynn
Margolis, a form of “microbial consciousness” may
be centered upon these nano-structures.
Various quantum phenomena within these
nanostructures have been suggested as the primary
“active agents” of consciousness. These include
quantum tunneling, quantum entanglement, and the
Casimir Effect. It is known that the Casimir
Effect—a pressure caused by vacuum fluctuations—is
a component of molecular bonds.
We propose the following Casimir-Effect approach
to stellar consciousness. It is assumed that the
interaction with vacuum fluctuations produces a
form of consciousness in all molecular bonds,
although this is weaker than the forms of
consciousness affected by the interaction of
vacuum fluctuations with organic nanostructures
such as microtubules and the inter-synaptic
spacing. Admittedly this is a pantheistic approach
to the universe. All molecules to a certain extent
are conscious. Stars cool enough to contain stable
molecules are therefore conscious, at least to
some extent. Over a very long period of time, they
can apply psychokinetic effects to maintain their
galactic position and remove at least some of the
requirement for the thus-far undetected dark
matter.
The ideas presented above might fit in the realms
of philosophy and science fiction rather than
physics unless there were some observational
supporting evidence. A literature search was
conducted to determine whether there is a
kinematical discontinuity in stellar proper motion
depending upon star surface temperature and
occurring in the stellar spectral classes for
which molecular lines and bands appear.
Since the 1950’s, such a discontinuity has in fact
been recognized. Dubbed Parenago’s discontinuity,
it refers to the fact that red, cooler stars have
faster motions in the direction of galactic
rotation than do blue, cooler stars.
Although it is provocative that Parenago’s stellar
velocities around the galactic center increase
with molecular abundance in the stellar
photosphere, this paper does not claim to prove
stellar consciousness as an alternative to dark
matter. There are many other more conventional
alternative explanations for anomalous stellar
kinematics that must be considered as well.
But the validity of some of the assumptions
presented here will be confirmed if future work
demonstrates that PK effects can be reliably
repeated in a laboratory environment. Other
assumptions will be validated if future nano-scale
computers achieve some level of consciousness when
the size of computing elements reaches molecular
levels.
If stellar consciousness can be demonstrated to be
a reasonable dark matter alternative, major
challenges will be presented to the SETI
community. How exactly do we communicate with
conscious, possibly sentient entities with
lifetimes so long that a century seems like a
second? And if we can’t do this successfully, how
do we prevent the catastrophic wars between
planetary and stellar intelligence in Star Maker
as human interplanetary capabilities mature?

Cattle
Mutilations and the Government
By Nick Redfern
Mentioning to many of the leading lights in the
field of so-called “Cattle Mutilations” the idea
that the admittedly weird phenomenon might have
far more to do with the the work of a clandestine
group in government or the military than it does
with black-eyed aliens from some far away galaxy,
is likely to result in a response of an
overwhelmingly negative and defensive nature.
Belief (particularly of the Mulder-like “I want to
believe” variety) is a very powerful tool when it
comes to concluding this or that is linked to the
UFO puzzle. And that goes for cattle-mutes, too.
But – say the full-on believers in the theory that
E.T. like to chow down on a nice tasty steak now
and again - if not the aliens, then who else could
be responsible? For the most part, they scoff at
the idea of predators, cults and the government
(the latter being “them” in paranoia-land) as the
culprits.
The fact of the matter, however, is that – for
decades, no less – various official bodies have
taken a clandestine and concerned interest in
animal deaths and injuries all across the United
States. But not for reasons relative to the
actions of menacing, meat-loving
extraterrestrials. Nope, the reasons are much
different and, in many ways, far more disturbing.
We’re talking about shadowy figures sabotaging the
food-chain via deliberate, terrorist-style actions
and officialdom’s secret and sometimes panicky
attempts to stop it.
Think I’m wrong? Think the government could not
keep – and still isn’t keeping – a careful and
secret watch on the U.S. cattle population for
reasons of a national security nature? If you do,
it’s time to think again. Read on…
Bacteriological Warfare in the United States is a
fascinating FBI document – declassified into the
public domain via the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act – that covers the years 1941 to
1950. Notably, of the file’s original 1,783 pages,
no less than 1,074 have been firmly withheld from
declassification by the FBI. The file reveals a
wealth of illuminating and disturbing data on
animal disease and death, and their potential,
theoretical links to bacteriological warfare and
sabotage by hostile nations and individuals.
For example, J.R. Ruggle, the FBI
Special-Agent-in-Charge at the Savannah, Georgia
office of the Bureau in the early-to-mid 1940s,
wrote thus to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover on
February 3, 1943: “This office has received a copy
of a communication from JOHN T. BISSELL, Colonel,
General Staff, Assistant Executive Officer,
Military Intelligence Service,Washington,D.C.,
dated December 29, 1942, to directors of
intelligence in all Service commands…”
Colonel Bissel’s communication read:
“It has been brought to the attention of this
division the possibility in the immediate future
of an attempt on the part of the enemy to plant
bombs containing germs or to endeavor to create an
epidemic, such as hoof and mouth disease, among
cattle and other livestock. It is requested that
should any information concerning the above come
to the attention of the Directors of Intelligence
of the Service Commands or the A.C. of S.
[Assistant Chief of Staff], G-2 [Army
Intelligence], Western Defense Command, that the
same be transmitted by the most expeditious means
to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2 War
Department.”
Evidently, such matters were of keen concern to
U.S. Intelligence. And that concern did not go
away any time soon. In 1944, the FBI prepared a
document that dealt with the scenario of a
widespread attack on the U.S. cattle herd via
unconventional, bacteriological warfare. The
document states:
“A review of the book entitled ‘Sabotage’ by
Michael Sayers and Albert E. Kahn, which was
published in September of 1942, discloses the
following data: The complete record of sabotage
carried out by Chernov, supposedly of the German
Intelligence service in Russia during 1930 to 1936
is too long to put into the book according to the
authors, but includes – killing off pedigree
breed-stock and raising cattle mortality by
artificially infecting cattle with various kinds
of bacteria – effecting a shortage of serum to
counteract epidemics of anthrax so that, in one
instance, 25,000 horses perished as a result of
Chernov’s sabotage – infecting tens of thousands
of pigs with erysipelas and with certain plagues
by having virulent bacteria placed in medicinal
sera.
“In another point, the authors have asked the
question: ‘Could such wholesale sabotage of
agriculture as took place in the Soviet Union take
place in the United States of America?’ They then
answer the question that, regardless of how
fantastic it might sound, such diabolical sabotage
was actually practiced by German saboteurs in 1915
in the United States of America.”
The FBI elaborated further:
“Anton Dilger, a German-American medical graduate
from John Hopkins University, was in Germany when
the First World War broke out. He offered his
services to the Kaiser, and was promptly detailed
by Colonel Nicolai to do secret service work in
the United States. Dilger returned to America with
a supply of cultures of glanders and anthrax
germs. Financed by von Papen, he set up a
laboratory in Chevy Chase, near Washington, and
started breeding germs on a large scale for
infecting mules, horses, and cattle awaiting
shipment to the allies.
“This man then organized a band of some twelve
assistants to travel around the country, carrying
Dilger’s germs in small glass phials stopped with
corks through which a needle extended. This roving
band jabbed their deadly needles into the
livestock.
“They also spread germs by placing them in fodder
and drink. Thousands of soldiers, as well as
horses and cattle, died as a result of Dilger’s
germs. At last Dilger revolted against his mission
of silent death. He was murdered by German spies a
few months before the end of the war. Could it
happen here? It did happen here!”
The FBI’s declassified records from 1945 reveal
that the issue of cattle being potentially
affected by bacteriological warfare was a major
one. A memo to Hoover dated July 6, 1945 states:
“You may be interested in the following
information which was reported by the SAC
[Special-Agent-in-Charge] of the Norfolk Field
Division following a Weekly Intelligence
Conference on June 28, 1945.”
The document refers to the work of a man (whose
identity is concealed to this day within the pages
of the declassified documents) employed by the
then-Army Air Force at Langley Field, Virginia,
and who had “been assigned to handling
investigations concerning the landing of Japanese
balloons in the states of North and South Dakota
and Nebraska.”
In a summary report, the SAC at Norfolk informed
Hoover: “I was interested to learn that recently
several Japanese balloons were found in that
territory which were determined to have been
carrying bacteria. The bacteria consisting of
Anthrax, are placed in the hydrogen. I was told
that such bacteria mainly affects cattle. When the
bacteria lands on wheat or other types or farm
land where food is being raised for the cattle,
the bacteria remain in the food when it is eaten
by the cattle, and upon human consumption of the
milk or meat, the bacteria can be passed on.”
Particularly notable is a July 11, 1949 document
that refers to the FBI’s desire to acquire
“…world-wide information on animal diseases and
animal population.” And, one year later, the FBI
was still collecting such data. On October 19,
1950, the FBI prepared a document titled Abnormal
Loss of Hogs in Nebraska and Illinois that dealt
with an unusually high number of hog deaths in the
aforementioned states – as a result of cholera.
The files, however, make it clear that, in
official, FBI quarters, the nature of the animals’
deaths had been viewed with deep suspicion.
It was concluded that the deaths were due to a
“variant virus” or “atypical virus” that stemmed
from “local conditions and the physical conditions
of the hogs.” The important factor, however, is
that this document was found within a file
specifically focused upon bacteriological warfare.
In other words, the FBI was still looking closely
at any and all animal deaths that might not have
wholly conventional explanations.
Of great significance is the fact that one of the
cases that the FBI examined – and that is
described in a heavily-redacted memo of May 29,
1950 – dealt with the finding of plague-infected
rats at the highly sensitive Sandia Base, New
Mexico, and which was viewed in some quarters as
being the result of nothing less than a deliberate
attempt to clandestinely introduce a widespread
plague on Sandia by hostile, unknown sources.
As an example, a document prepared by the FBI’s
Special-Agent-in-Charge at its Albuquerque, New
Mexico on June 22, 1950, titled Bacteriological
Warfare – Espionage-Sabotage (Bubonic Plague),
refers to rumors then flying around the official
world that an outbreak of bubonic plague in New
Mexico’s rat population may have been the result
of deliberate, bacteriological warfare-related
activities by – once again – hostile, unknown
forces.
The FBI noted with respect to its interview with a
plague expert, who is identified only as a “Miss
Greenfield” that: “…[She] is acquainted with the
presence of the plague among wild rodents in New
Mexico and in the United States for several years.
It has now reached an area from the West Coast to
a line running north and south at approximately
the border of New Mexico.”
The FBI continued: “From August 1949 there were
four cases among humans in New Mexico. Briefly,
these four cases, one of which was fatal, were
reported in New Mexico. Each case indicated that
the victim had shortly before the illness, handled
wild rodents which he had killed. The one case in
New Mexico which was fatal was not diagnosed as
the plague until after death.”
Notably, the FBI subsequently received from the
Public Health Service two charts displaying the
outbreaks of plague in both New Mexico and the
continental United States during that period. And
as the FBI noted with respect to the Public Health
Service: “…they have found positive evidence of
the plague among wild rodents in the states lying
west of a line directly north of the east boundary
of the state of New Mexico.”
The FBI’s Special-Agent-in-Charge at Albuquerque
concluded his report thus: “Miss Greenfield has
been requested to advise this office concerning
any pertinent developments of the plague in New
Mexico or in the United States that may come to
her attention. In the event such developments are
received, the Bureau will be immediately advised.”
And, in essence, those are the significant,
declassified portions of the file. Taking into
consideration the fact that we now know senior
elements of, and agencies within, the government
were taking a deep – albeit secret – interest and
concern in cases of unusual disease and death in
the U.S. animal population in the 1940s and 1950s,
is it really out of the question to suggest they
might have done exactly the same thing since the
1960s and right up to the present day?
And, that being so, what better way to hide such
actions than behind a smokescreen of alien-themed
“cattle mutilations”?
After all, such a smokescreen (or maybe “meme”
might be better and more accurate) would keep away
the “serious” media, who would lump the phenomenon
in with the likes of Roswell, Nessie and Bigfoot
and largely ignore it or poke fun at it. UFO
researchers would be kept busy chasing
non-existing alien butchers. And the debunkers –
some of who are hardly strangers when it comes to
acting as fawning, pathetic apologists for
government – would be content to suggest it’s all
the work of coyotes, mountain-lions, birds,
insects, etc., etc.
Cattle mutes are real – believe it. But the
culprits are not who many think they are (or so
desperately want them to be)….

The Dark Side of UFOLOGY
By Timothy Green Beckley
It’s UFOlogy’s
dirty little secret. It’s something that is
better left swept under the rug. Stanton
Friedman doesn’t talk about it. Stephen
Bassett most assuredly would keep the subject
at arm’s length. The late Richard Hall would
have deleted you from his address book. And
Steven Greer would never consider it part of
his ongoing Disclosure program.
To coin ourselves a catch-all phrase that
brings together all the negative aspects of
the subject, I prefer to call it the DARK SIDE
OF UFOLOGY!
It would appear – at least at first glance –
that only those who consider themselves
Christian fundamentalists have a rigorous drum
to beat on behalf of the subject matter
we are considering – that at least some UFOs
can rightfully be tied in with Demonic
phenomenon. It would seem to be almost an
exclusive element of their zealous faith
based belief system that contends
anything remotely occult or supernatural—and
that would definitely include UFOs -- has a
stanch ally in the devil and his
minions. Christian
apologist, Dave Hunt has stated,
“the same people that run UFOs are the same
people that run haunted houses.“
Indeed, it has become more apparent even by
those who for decades held dearly to a deep
belief that UFOs must be interplanetary in
nature, that there is a paranormal nature to
this enigma that cannot easily be set aside.
Several top notch researchers -- such as the
late Dr J. Allen Hynek’s former associates Ted
Phillips and Philip Imbrogno -- have
come to realize that we are NOT dealing solely
with physical craft from outer space occupied
by off-world astronauts coming to warn
us that we might possibly annihilate ourselves
either ecologically or in the course of our
warlike nature.
More and more emphasis needs to be placed on
the spiritual, occult and paranormal nature of
the phenomenon seen in our skies and invading
our homes and personal boundaries. It’s not
all “sweetness and light,” kiddies. The truth
is that there are a host of negative elements
associated with UFO encounters. Some of the
entities involved could very well be leading
us down the primrose path. You can believe,
and the evidence clearly is undisputable, that
there are cosmic criminals in our midst who
have successfully managed to possess and
control the minds of utterly frightened
participants who had no warning that they were
to be caught up inside a nightmarish web of
confusion and chaos.
There are numerous aspects of this dark side
of UFOs that we examine closely in our
just published book Round Trip To Hell In A
Flying Saucer: UFO Parasites, Alien Soul
Suckers, Invaders From Demonic Realms.
+ The connection between UFOs, demons, and
possibly Satan himself.
+ The fascination for and the link between
Nazism, occultism and post WWII German-made
flying saucers.
+ The ghastly exercise of blood draining and
human sacrifice throughout antiquity and their
relationship to animal and human mutilations
and blood letting in modern times, which align
closely to the appearance of UFOs in specific
theaters of operation on our planet.
+ The weird claims of John Lear that aliens
are coming here to kidnap humans and not
return them. That people are being used for
food, and how “they” are performing sadistic
experimentations upon us, and are attempting
to suck out our souls and place them in
“containers” for their own perverted use.
+ The Islamic belief in the normally invisible
elementals identified in the Koran as the Jinn
and how these malevolent spirits are able to
misrepresent themselves by camouflaging their
true identity and traveling around at
fantastic speeds.
+ Shape shifters who can turn into human
looking beings, animals, orbs, fireballs or
manifest themselves even as physical
“hardware” to fool us into believing they are
mechanical devices.
+ The casting of magical spells, occult
rituals and the ability to conjure up
spirits and beings often mistaken for UFOnauts
but more closely aligned with the elemental
kingdom.
I don’t think a week went by when my mail box
(not the one that is part of your Windows or
Mac, but the one that stands, or used to
stand, at the curb) wasn’t jammed with a
couple of large manila envelopes from William
C. Lamb.
To be honest, our “correspondence” was mostly
one sided. To me, Lamb was a bit of a nutter
(British for crackpot). He claimed to have
images of heaven and even God’s throne that
astronomers had photographed through high
powered telescopes that exist on the edge of
the galaxy. To him the ole man in the clouds
was as real as you or I and the Lord’s Kingdom
was a place you could actually see if you had
a powerful enough telescope. Kind of crazy,
right? Well, the story doesn’t end
there. According to Lamb, he knew all about
God and Satan firsthand because he had seen
Beelzebub with his own eyes. No! It wasn’t
part of a near-death or out-of-body
experience, but a component of a UFO landing.
Lamb had been out hunting in a snowstorm
around four or five AM in February 1922, as he
explained, when he heard a buzzing sound and
saw this huge spherical craft hovering over a
nearby field. It was so large and brilliant to
his eyes that it blocked out the stars and he
found himself mesmerized by its sudden
appearance. He watched in awe as a partition
opened on the side of the craft and a gigantic
creature with wings flew to the ground and
landed in the snow. The being was somewhere
between seven and eight feet tall and appeared
demonic in its facial features and physical
form. Lamb said he hid behind a tree and
watched as it tracked through the snow, its
hooves – yes, I said hooves – melting down to
the tundra as it went along. Eventually it
came to a sturdy wire fence and managed to
just walk through it, burning through the mesh
and leaving it looking red hot.
At the time I had every reason to believe Lamb
was totally delusional. It was
obvious that he saw everything through the
eyes of orthodox religion. So much so that
when he was approached by this ghoulish figure
he managed to get it to fly off, using the
name of Jesus and commanding it to depart.
The case is known to others besides me.
Apparently a letter or two from W.C. was also
preserved in the Air Force’s Project Blue Book
files because astute researcher Jacques Vallee
mentions it in his book Passport to
Magonia. Vallee has long expressed his
opinions that, “UFOs are real but they are not
physical. They are messengers of deception,”
and that, “. . .the UFOs beings of today
belong to the same class of manifestation as
the (occult) entities that were described in
centuries past.”
As far back as the 1960s – perhaps earlier! --
certain fractions in the U.S. government and
military acknowledged the occult nature
of what were still referred to in many
circles as flying saucers. In 1969 the U.S.
Printing Office issued a 400-page publication
entitled UFOs And Related Subjects, a huge
compendium of over 1000 books, literature and
testimonies of UFO contactees. The document
was compiled for the Air Force and the Library
of Congress by Lynn Catoe who in
its Introduction matter-of-factly states: “A
large part of the available UFO literature is
closely linked with mysticism and the
metaphysical. It deals with subjects like
mental telepathy, automatic writing and
invisible entities as well as phenomenon like
poltergeist manifestations and possession.
Many of the UFO reports now being published in
the popular press recount alleged incidents
that are strikingly similar to demonic
possession and psychic phenomenon that have
long been known to theologians and
parapsychologists.” Others with a
decisively Christian bent have expressed
concern that “the aliens often encourage
illicit sex, and other ungodly things.” One
abductee Calvin Parker told me that aliens had
caused the AIDS virus and that, “I think they
are demons. I feel like it’s evil. It could
come from another world, but I think it’s kind
of interdimensional in this one,” Parker
explained to a reporter.
Ann Druffel has been active in
investigating UFOs since 1957 when she
joined the National Investigations Committee
on Unidentified Flying Objects. The affable
author of Tujunga Canyon Contacts (co-authored
by D. Scott Rogo) and How To Defend Yourself
Against Alien Abduction is a no nonsense
type of individual. She has paid her dues and
everyone respects her opinions, even when she
unhesitantly states: “The entities who pose as
‘extraterrestrials’ are not what they say they
are. Rather, they are apparently unwholesome
entities who have deceived and interacted with
humans since the dawn of history. Be they
mythic, ‘real,’ ‘spiritual,’ interdimensional
or from a ‘hidden world’ which somehow exists
in or alongside our own earth plane, I cannot
say, since proof still eludes us. I do know
for certain, however, that interfering, shape
shifting, ‘otherworldly’ entities have been
described by every major culture (and many
smaller cultures) on the face of the earth
down through the millennia, and that these
older cultures developed means to fend them
off or, at the very least, recognized them for
what they were.”
UNCLE SAM’S DEMONIC THINK TANK
Nick Redfern is one of the few
investigative journalists that is almost
universally respected in a field where
disagreements and lingering grudges between
UFOlogists are fairly common. Recently, he
authored a book, Final Events: And The Secret
Government Group on UFOs and the Afterlife
which just about ruined his near perfect
reputation. The work details the history
of a hidden think tank within the U.S.
Government that believes rather than having
alien origins, UFOs are really a tool of the
Devil.
We sat down for a length interview with
Redfern to be found in Round Trip
To Hell In A Flying Saucer. Redfern explained
to me that the think tank was begun to try and
exploit the mental powers of what they called
“Non-Human Entities,” commonly known as the
Grays. “There were people in the official
world,” Nick says, “that wanted to see if the
mind-power of the Grays could be utilized as a
form of mind-weaponry by the Pentagon, and the
Department of Defense ..something along the
lines of a next generation Remote Viewing type
program.“ The more the Pentagon group got into
the project, “the more they came to believe
that the Grays were highly deceptive, and they
also came to believe the Grays were actually –
and quite literally – deceptive demons from
Hell, who were here to deceive us about their
true agenda – which was to bring people over
to the dark side and prepare things for
Armageddon, but to do it under the guise of a
faked alien appearance,” or so Redfern
reveals.
“As for abductions, the think tank believes
the whole alien scenario is a scam – a series
of brain-induced hallucinations provoked by
these entities as a means to reinforce the
idea that they are aliens here to experiment
on us..” Furthermore, the they can seemingly,
“provoke hallucinatory imagery in the mind:
aliens, goblins, Bigfoot, etc. to make us
believe we’re seeing something physical and
external.”
The group came to conclude, says Redfern,
“That Earth is a farm, and that we are the
cattle. . .that these entities essentially are
here to harvest and feed upon the energy of
our soul at death because these demonic
creatures are basically energy-based, and our
energy feeds and fuels them.” This task
is further expanded upon in our book by
retired CIA “jockey” and ace pilot John Leer
who has long maintained such a “peculiar”
theory.
For our book Round Trip To Hell In A Flying
Saucer, we have gathered together our own
“think tank” of prominent individuals to
express their opinions and to collectively
publish their own findings. Included in this
roster are Brad Steiger, Adam Gorightly, Kenn
Thomas, Brent Raynes as well as the
posthumous John Keel author of Trojan Horse
and Mothman Prophecies.
Incorporated in this large sized work is also
a little known tome published in 1955 from
which we adapted the overall title of our own
work. Not only did Cecil Michael claim
to rub shoulders with Mr Scratch, but he says
he went with him straight to hell. Proclaims
the flyleaf on a very rare copy: “Here is one
of the most startling stories ever written!
The narrator, calmly working in his auto
repair shop, suddenly finds himself playing
host to a pair of visitors from outer space.
From that moment his entire life is changed.
“For weeks the Spacemen practice all types of
weird experiments upon their bewildered
friend, who is too terrified to protest.
Finally, wearying of their ingenious
super-games, they decide to take the poor auto
mechanic on a trip to Hell. . .And, as you
descend with the narrator into a modern
Inferno, you will pray, with the auto mechanic
who tells the story, that his visit will be a
short one.”
The British publication Magonia encapsulates
Cecil Michael’s bizarre Round Trip To Hell In
A Flying Saucer in this manner:
“The craft went off into space, eventually
arriving at a bleak red planet with a lake of
fire into which coffins were cast, the dead
bodies inside them then coming to life and
burning in agony. He was afraid that he would
be trapped there permanently, but apparently
he was saved by a vision of Christ that
appeared in a beam of white light, and
returned to Earth. The trip seemed to have
taken four days, but only four hours had
passed.”
Without a doubt this can be said to be our
oddest contribution to the overall body of UFO
and paranormal literature we have published
over the last five decades. It discusses a
theory that is straight out of the movie The
Exorcist.
To many it will be a difficult to accept
concept. To others it is something that they
already recognize as part of their on going
faith. It is none the less a premise that
needs to be explored.

PERCHANCE TO DREAM DEPARTMENT -
Quantum
Dream Portals and Extraterrestrial Realities
By Diane
Tessman
There it is: The doorway to other realities!
Humans have not yet learned to control this
personal quantum portal yet, but we are learning.
This astounding and downright magical door is
right up there in our heads and we use it all the
time. However, just like our magnificent,
life-giving and life-sustaining planet, we take
our personal quantum portal for granted. It is the
world of The Dream – Dream Reality.
I feel we humans go amok in fully comprehending
the Dream Reality because we apply the lowest
common denominator to it. We are taught in
childhood that if you are bullied at school and
then have a dream of being bullied, that your
dream was only a “bad dream” and that dreams are
not real. “The only value of that dream,” said
mother, “is to work out your frustration.
Of course, in the Dream Reality, that bullying
experience in school was the scenario which was
not “real.” The belief of the Australian
Aborigines is that the Dream Reality is the “real
reality,” but the civilized world stresses Day
Reality.
The Day Reality is that world we know all too
well, of greedy financial deals, personal stresses
and worries, illness, family disputes, war,
rudeness, the Internet – yes, some good scenarios,
too in Day Reality! No one is trying to get rid of
the Day Reality!
However, as civilization progresses (or
“civilization,” depends on your point of view), we
humans have almost gotten rid of the Dream
Reality. We fail to give it meaningful in-put into
our lives, we fail to consider it as important in
any way, and like the living spirit of Mother
Earth, we often don’t acknowledge that it exists
at all.
Australian Aboriginal People believe that every
person exists eternally in Dream Time. This
eternal aspect of the individual exists before the
life of the physical individual begins, and
continues to exist when the life of the individual
ends.
This spirit-child which is in each of us, exists
in The Infinite Dreaming and is only initiated
into physical life by being born through a mother.
The spirit of the child is understood to enter the
developing fetus during the fifth month; when the
mother felt the child move in the womb for the
first time, it was thought that this was the work
of the spirit of the land in which the mother then
stood. Upon birth, the child is considered to be a
special custodian of that part of his land and is
taught the stories and songs about that place.
What a dynamic connection between Human and
Planet!
The Aboriginal teachings are that before humans,
animals, and plants came into being, their souls
existed; they knew they would become physical, but
not at what “time.” When that time came, all but
one of the souls became plants or animals, with
the last one becoming human and acting as guardian
to the natural world.
Here is ancient wisdom for the human species in
2012, as our Planet Earth now struggles to sustain
its life-forms, partially due to our own
recklessness and uncaring ways.
So, back to our boring “work out a bad day in your
dreams” world: Yes, this is how dreams are seen as
being useful in civilized 2012, good to have an
argument with your boss in your dreams to get rid
of the frustration at work. Then hopefully you
won’t make any waves at work, which is the “real
world.”
Of course we replay good Day Reality events too in
nightly dreams; we can even resurrect dead
relatives and have a picnic with them or take a
walk. If they are like my parents, they will
be much happier together in the Dream Reality than
they ever were in the Day Reality when alive. In
the Dream Reality, they live still and are finally
happy and unstressed.
This brings us to the myriad of dream levels: Our
Day Reality (when we are awake), is but the tip of
Reality itself. In the same way, when we dream of
events from the Day Reality (bullying, the boss,
and so forth), it is still just the tip of the
iceberg of Reality – and the tip of the Dream
Reality specifically.
Often as we first dose off, we enter the
hypnogogic state. The Dream Reality door
then cracks open! The hypnogogic state is a
strange phenomenon which happens at the onset of
sleep. Also known as hypnagogia, it induces
visions, voices, insights and peculiar sensations
as you go bouncing through this borderland
terrain.
Hypnogogia varies; sometimes it is the reality you
know flashing in and out in crazy ways, but
sometimes you see, hear and even touch realities
which are completely alien to you.
Extraterrestrials and time-aliens can and do show
up in this level of Reality. It is only that old
Day Reality which tries to filter out these
beings, telling you they do not exist in any way
because it (your day-mind), refuses to conceive of
them, because they frighten your daily mind.
Your day-mind is a rigid censor - a heartless
filter - of anything it does not comprehend.
The old day-mind deals with the boss, the
headache, the money problems, the wayward son, the
computer, and so much more, so we need to give it
a break, too. It is not “bad,” but it is not “all”
either! It only thinks it is “all.”
Hypnagogic imagery as you fall asleep, contains
faces, landscapes and geometric shapes, perhaps
like the Aborigines crop circle-like art, which
emanated from their Dream Time over thousands of
years.
Complex patterns flow across your field of vision,
becoming almost hypnotic in nature. You can
manipulate the hypnogogic state with intense
focus, but you must not let your day-mind awaken
fully to delete the whole thing. It is very
skilled at doing that! What many people
don't realize is this imagery can be used to
induce lucid dreams.
Is there a connection to our Dream Reality and
Jungian archetypes? Do our dreams link to
creations of consciousness and even to the Dream
Reality of our living planet? Our Dream Reality to
her Dream Reality – a pathway to our Mother
Goddess? I believe so!
Fairies and other nature spirits are quite at home
in our Dream Reality! Also, our
quantum dream portals open to extraterrestrials
and other-dimensional beings so that they can
interact with their human cousins safely; the
Dream Reality is safe for both human and
other-world beings.
Of course some people worry about nightmares
wherein alien monsters come out of the woodwork.
The truth is, some souls manage to keep their
dream-ship on an even course, so that even if
there is a nightmare, it does not make a lasting
impression. Other souls are more
fearful by nature. Perhaps this gets into past
life experiences or bad childhoods or whatever
makes us each unique in the cosmos.
I can only say that if you wish to explore the
Dream Reality as a valid reality and work to have
mastery of it, you should do so! Don’t let
those-who-fear-dreams stop you when they tell you
of their frightening dreams and give sometimes
nonsensical warnings.
It boils down to the same choices those astronauts
had to make in Day Reality: Do I boldly go up in
that little tin space capsule, Major Tom? Or do I
stay safe down in this “reality?”
Of course there are a million other examples large
and small: Do I try to help that wounded dog off
the highway or do I stay safe? That wounded dog,
when saved, will change your reality, making it
100% better with his lifelong companionship.
I suppose there is always a huge risk, both to
astronauts and dog-savers. Day Reality tries to
make us frightened of everything, tries to tell us
to stay safe at all costs. It is up to you how
important “safety at all costs” – is.
It is the same regarding coming face to face with
aliens in Day Reality (“real” reality), that’s
assuming they exist in our “real reality,” and I
firmly believe they do.
Do I cower in fear behind my sofa and hope that
saucer departs from my back yard?
Or do I carefully go toward the back yard with my
fingers making the peace sign and a smile
plastered on my face? Perhaps there is no right
answer!
Incidentally, if in the aliens’ society, the peace
sign is an insult, well—I do believe they’ve
studied us long and thoroughly, and they do know
our peace sign and our smile. You can say I am
naïve but what is your alternative to these
numerous spacecraft with these occupants inside,
zooming around our skies every day? What is the
human race to do? Really? I feel strongly we must
go out to the back yard demanding to be equal, and
get started with this galactic community thing!
Back to the Dream Reality: There are so many
levels to dreams, from nitty gritty replays of
daily life to the deep dreams of REM sleep, to the
hypnopompic state.
The hypnopompic state is that level of
consciousness preceding waking. You can have
dreams then which are easier to remember and often
quite significant. I have felt many other-world
interactions in my hypnopompic state with aliens
and earth spirits. In fact, I often wake up with
an answer with to a Day Reality problem or to a
cosmic puzzle, and it is usually given during this
pre-awakening dream consciousness. The Irish say
that the fairies have visited you if you wake up
with an answer to a problem or puzzle.
Some dreams reoccur often, we are suddenly back in
that same unknown house or country road or city
building, night after night. And yet, we have
never been to these places, so we return to these
timelines night after night. These alternate
realities seem to wait for us to return.
Do you have prophetic dreams? Many people have
seen catastrophes they believe are to come in the
Day Reality. Often these connect to these Change
Times and the coming Change Point.
Do you interact with extraterrestrials or
other-worlders repeatedly in your dreams?
Are they the same being or beings? Are they
teachers or perhaps simply – friends?
Or are they YOU?
Do you have another self in your dreams, rather
like an avatar in a virtual reality game? Or
perhaps not like an avatar, but simply YOU in
another aspect of your whole quantum self?
Or perhaps you have had one enormously significant
prophetic dream which haunts and guides you the
rest of your life.
One thing is certain: We are not talking about
some unimportant dream-state. We are considering
quantum realities and the truth about Reality
itself. We are considering Consciousness! After
all, isn’t that what the universe is composed of?
Dreams are real, not just in the sense that we all
go to sleep and we all dream. Our Dream Realities
are valid! They are part of Reality itself.
Some theorize that dreams are valid alternate
timelines which come to an end as we awaken. Yes,
the Dream Reality seems to end when we wake up,
but then the Day Reality ends when we go to sleep.
Which is more valid?
Yes, dreams end, but so does this life we are
currently living. This reality comes to an end for
all of us, doesn’t it?
I am positive that our infinite spirit – our
consciousness - wakes up again after “death” to
the Greater Reality. Perhaps I will be that time
traveler who haunts my dreams.
Perhaps I am that time traveler who haunts my
dreams!
He comes through the portal. He teaches. He
experiences. I learn. I also teach and experience.
Do alien and human worlds meet in Dream Time? We
desperately need a common ground to establish
simple, basic understanding, respect, and even
love for each other. I feel the aliens do use the
dream levels of our consciousness to begin this
mutual knowledge.
Perhaps we are all pioneer souls, as we read about
UFOs and then dream each night. We lead the way to
that common ground as we contribute “Yes, aliens
are real!” to the mass human consciousness.

- THE SUPERNATURAL
FOR DUMMIES DEPARTMENT -
Vatican
Publishes Guide on how to Deal with
'Supernatural Phenomena'
They have been closely guarded for more than 30
years, but guidelines on how to deal with divine
apparitions of the Virgin Mary and "supernatural
phenomena" have now been released by the Vatican.
The "norms" on how the Roman Catholic Church
should deal with mystical apparitions were
initially drawn up in Latin in 1978 under Pope
Paul VI and were intended for strictly internal
use.
They shed light on the sorts of apparitions which
have inspired the establishment of shrines such as
those at Lourdes in France and Fatima in Portugal,
which attract millions of pilgrims a year, many in
search of cures for illnesses or other "miracles".
The guidelines are intended to help bishops "in
their difficult task of discerning presumed
apparitions, revelations, messages or, more
generally, extraordinary phenomena of presumed
supernatural origin," Cardinal William Levada, the
American prefect of the CDF, wrote in a preface.
Deciding whether a spiritual revelation is genuine
or not is based on its "orientation to Christ
Himself," Cardinal Levada wrote. "If it leads us
away from Him, then it certainly does not come
from the Holy Spirit." Determining whether a
spiritual revelation is authentic or not is the
responsibility of the local bishop, the Vatican
said.
He is required to set up a special panel of
theologians, psychologists and doctors to judge
the "psychological equilibrium and rectitude of
moral life" of the person or people reporting the
apparition and whether it corresponds with Church
doctrine.
The bishop should try to "discern quickly" the
authenticity of an apparition, although his
judgment could be impeded by "critical scientific
investigation", the Vatican said.
A revelation would be dismissed if there was
evidence that the person who had witnessed it was
mentally unsound, whether the vision was the
product of "collective hysteria" or if there was a
suspicion that the whole thing was a fraud
concocted for profit.
If the bishop cannot make a decision, the judgment
can ultimately be referred to the Pope himself.
The Vatican decided to make the guidelines public,
and to translate them into five languages,
including English, because elements had leaked out
into the public domain over the years.
They have been published by the Congregation for
the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), the powerful
Vatican department which was headed by Benedict
before he was elected Pope in 2005.
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is
currently investigating claims that a group of six
Catholic children began to see apparitions of the
Virgin Mary in the town of Medjugorje in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, starting in 1981.
The apparition claims have been judged groundless
by a local bishop, but that has not stopped an
estimated 30 million believers from visiting the
pilgrimage site.
Lourdes, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, became
a shrine after apparitions of the Virgin Mary were
witnessed by a shepherd girl, Bernadette
Soubirous, in 1858.
The publication of the guidelines may provide
temporary distraction from one of the worst crises
of Benedict XVI's seven-year papacy – the leaking
of confidential documents and the arrest of his
personal butler, amid claims of vicious faction
fighting within the Holy See.
