Why is it so hard to believe that things may not be as they seem? Behind the frozen smiles and empty eyes lie the decaying dreams of a better world. Where once was a promise of fairness and quiet noble ideals, is replaced with fear that grasps with rabid desperation for fictional pasts, tribal gods and all-to-real prejudices. And freedom, sweet freedom, its desire demands a watchful eye as treason blooms from the root of our forefathers. Fear and security are the new mandate. With fear comes control. From control comes power. This is what we have to offer our bearers of new light. Is this the legacy we want to leave after our lives have disappeared into dust; A bold, free future, or a shattered promise of yesterdays forgotten dreams?

Why is it so hard to believe that things may not be as they seem?

From the Days of UFOs Past - This Fantastic Book!

A STRANGE SAGA OF SAUCERS, SPACE BROTHERS, SECRET AGENTS AND ALIEN ASTRONAUTS THROUGHOUT ANTIQUITY

George Hunt Williamson – known as “Brother Philip” throughout the highlands of Peru, the jungles of South and Central America, and the arid plains of the Southwest – traveled the longest highway in the world, leading him to discover a vast road into the sky that can be linked to the arrival of visitors from elsewhere in the universe throughout the ages.

Within these pages are the stories of the Hopi Sun Clan, including the legends of the “Giant Star.” The secret of the Stone Tablets of Peru. The Time Spanners. The Beacon of the Gods. The Martian Miniatures. Fossils, Footprints and Fantasy. Evidence for the existence of the “Silent World,” and the reality of the Unholy Six.

Also this is the book that gives:
*
Williamson’s behind-the-scenes battle with the FBI and the Silence Group.

*
His investigation into the mysterious disappearances of Hunrath and Wilkinson, who might have been murdered or abducted by UFOs.

* The accusations of smuggling and his “association” with a sexy flying saucer pilot whom the FBI identified as a “ravishing woman commandant!”

Williamson, sometime in his life, must have come to realize that, in America, if you try to buck the status quo or change the system you can easily be slandered and identified as a dangerous dissident, whether you are called a communist, a fascist, or a neo-Nazi.

Many of the contactees of the early UFO/New Age communities were unduly slandered, as was the man aka “Brother Philip.” It was also suggested that Williamson was a “Mind-Controlled Soldier” of the Soviet Union, a label he found difficult to shake off during his years of battling with the “system.” How he persevered in spite of all this undeserved conflict makes for a story of true UFO heroism.

For subscribers of the Conspiracy Journal Newsletter this book is on sale for the special price of only $18.95 (plus $5.00 shipping).  This offer will not last long so ORDER TODAY!

President Clinton "Wouldn't Be Surprised if Extraterrestrials Exist"

Former President Bill Clinton on Wednesday night said he "wouldn't be surprised" if extraterrestrial life existed in the universe.

The issue of extraterrestrial life came up when Kimmel declared that if he were to become President, he would immediately “demand to see all the classified files on the UFOs.”

“Did you do that?” Kimmel asked.

“Sort of,” Clinton smiled.

He said he asked for the review at the beginning of his second term, after “Independence Day” came out and as the 50th anniversary of an alleged UFO crash in Roswell, N.M., approached.

"First, I had people go look at the records on Area 51 to make sure there was no alien down there," Clinton said. “But there are no aliens there. So then I, when the Roswell thing came up, I knew we’d get gazillions of letters. So I had all the Roswell papers reviewed, everything."

Yet he said there could still be aliens out there somewhere.

"We know now we live in an ever expanding universe. We know that there are billions of star and planets literally out there, and the universe is getting bigger," he said. "We know from our fancy telescopes that just in the last two years, more than 20 planets have been identified outside our solar system that seem to be far enough away from their suns and dense enough that they might be able to support some form of life, so it makes it increasingly less likely that we are alone."

Kimmel asked Clinton if he was trying to say that there is in fact alien life.

"I'm trying to tell you I don't know, but if we're visited someday, I wouldn't be surprised. I just hope that it is not like 'Independence Day,'" Clinton responded.

The former President did say that he hoped that an alien invasion would at least bring an end to conflict on earth.

"That may be the only way to unite this incredibly divided world of ours," he said. "They are out there — we better think of how all the difference among people on earth would seem small if we felt threatened by a space invader. That is the whole theory of 'Independence Day.'"

According to the website hillaryclintonufo.net, stories abound about how Bill Clinton started looking for UFO answers after he became President. William LaParl, a Maine UFO researcher, for example, was in contact with the CIA in 1993 when the Clinton's came to the White House. He stated, "It was known among the high CIA people, and the people who had contact with these people, that the Clinton's were on the prowl for UFOs. Bill Clinton had been asking anyone who would listen to him, to tell him the secret. You know, he would get some Admiral in there, and say "By the way, tell me the UFO secret." They would just look at him like "What planet are you from?"

Hillary appeared to have had the same interest. "She was almost an equal mover with him on this," Laparl said. "I would not give him any more weight at all on this UFO thing. If anything she may have slightly been pushing it more than he was. That’s the way I read the situation. She was particularly interested at one point, and she was asking a lot of questions."

Admirals were not the only military people that the Clinton's were delegating into the search for UFO answers. Dr. Steven Greer, an emergency room physician, who had become very active in Washington on UFO disclosure efforts at the time stated, “Some very good friends of the President became cognizant of what we were doing and urgently wanted us to get information to the President, to his science adviser, as well as to some of the senior military intelligence people in his administration after he got elected in 1993.”

Dr. Greer contacted many high ranking military officials during the Clinton years. One of the senior military people in the Clinton administration who was contacted and did try to help was Vice Admiral Tom Wilson, who was J2, head of Intelligence for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 1988 Greer provided Wilson a series of documents, code names, and numbers. Greer stated, “He took them and made inquiries at the Pentagon into these projects, and he hit pay dirt. He actually located these projects. When he made an inquiry, wanting to know what these projects were doing, he was flat out told, ‘Sir, you don't have a need to know’…  They told him he didn't have a need to know. He was furious.”1

Greer also provided citizen UFO briefings to a number of members of the Clinton administration. The most significant of these was the meeting he had with Clinton’s first CIA Director James Woolsey in December 1993 just months after the Clintons entered the White House.

Woolsey was already interested in UFOs prior to being brought in as DCI by Clinton. He and his wife Sue Woolsey, Chief Operating Officer of the National Academy of Sciences, had reportedly experienced a daylight sighting of a UFO in New Hampshire during the late sixties.

Woolsey had been looking for UFO answers inside the CIA, perhaps on instructions from Clinton. Despite the public position of the CIA that they were not involved in the subject of UFOs, Woolsey initiated a “review of all Agency files on the subject of UFOs." which in 1997 eventually produced a new CIA report on UFOs. It was titled The CIA’s Role in the Study of UFOs, 1947–90. It was first published in Studies in Intelligence, a classified journal published quarterly for the intelligence community.

For whatever reason, it was Woolsey who contacted Dr. Greer to provide information on UFOs. Woolsey had just appeared on Larry King Live claiming that the Clinton administration was planning, “"to disclose historical material in a spirit of new openness," so the meeting with Greer might have been related.

The UFO meeting was set up by Woolsey’s friend John Petersen who ran the Arlington Institute in Washington. Petersen followed Greer to a series of his lectures and then approached him at a presentation at Colorado State University, in Fort Collins, Colorado telling him he had, ” a few folks in Washington who I think you need to meet with.”

The meeting with Woolsey took place in December 1993 and it lasted three hours. Dr. Greer set out his view of what was going on based on UFO documents he had brought along. Greer encouraged Woolsey to bring UFO disclosure to the American public.

Woolsey, however, appeared to have considered that option, telling Greer, “They have all told me nothing. They told me, well we had Project Blue Book, but the Air Force closed it in 1969.”

Woolsey went on to tell Dr. Greer the Clinton administration could not disclose the UFO secret, because no one in the Clinton administration could get to the information. “Dr. Greer, how can we disclose what we are being denied access to? What would that say to the world?"

Over in the Justice Department Bill Clinton had assigned a close friend to work the UFO disclosure effort for him. Clinton had appointed Webster Hubbell, a long time Arkansas friend, and Hillary Clinton associate at the Rose Law Firm, as Assistant Attorney General. Along with the Justice appointment came the UFO assignment.

Hubbell described what Clinton had requested from him in his 1997 book Friends in High Places. Hubbell recounted Clinton’s instructions, “If I put you over at Justice I want you to find the answers to two questions for me. One, who killed JFK? And two, are there UFOs?” Hubbell continued, “Clinton was dead serious. I had looked into both, but wasn't satisfied with the answers I was getting."

The request for Hubbell not only pointed out Bill Clinton was looking for an UFO answer, it showed clearly that he did not believe the official government position on either UFOs or the Kennedy assassination.

When President Clinton requested a briefing on the subject of UFOs, the official Blue Book conclusion was presented to him. President Clinton knew he was getting the runaround and was not happy.

One quoted comment of the President’s frustration came following a private meeting with Laurance Rockefeller in August 1995 where Rockefeller presented the UFO material Project Blue Book had ignored. After returning from Rockefeller’s ranch to the White House a friend of Bill Clinton quoted the President’s frustration at not being given the truth, “I know this is all true, but Goddamn it, they won’t tell me a thing. Not a Goddamned thing.”

Video Shows Meteorite Narrowly Missed Skydiver

When a Norwegian man jumped out of a plane during a skydiving trip in 2012, he wasn't expecting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a meteorite up close -- really close.

Anders Helstrup narrowly avoided getting hit by the meteor, which zipped by just a few feet away. In the process, he became the first person ever to capture video footage of a meteorite traveling through the air after its flame has gone out.

According to an interview with NRK.no., the Norwegian public broadcasting company, Helstrup had been wearing a wingsuit and a helmet with two cameras attached. When he deployed his parachute, he realized that something was happening.

"I got the feeling that there was something, but I didn't register what was happening," he told NRK.no.

First dismissing it as a stone, Helstrup studied his video footage and couldn't shake the feeling that something about it was amiss.

"When we stopped the film, we could clearly see something that looked like a stone. At first it crossed my mind that it had been packed into a parachute, but it's simply too big for that," Helstrup explained in the interview.

When he showed the video to the Natural History Museum in Oslo, they agreed with his assumption -- it must have been a meteorite. Experts say that the meteorite may have been part of a larger one that may have exploded above Helstrup.

"It can't be anything else. The shape is typical of meteorites -- a fresh fracture surface on one side, while the other side is rounded," geologist Hans Amundsen told the Norwegian news organization.

"It has never happened before that a meteorite has been filmed during dark flight; this is the first time in world history," he added.

Helstrup spent the rest of the summer searching the surrounding forests for the meteorite. The museum helped with calculating and triangulating a search area, but so far it has not been found.

The search for the meteorite has been deterred by the surrounding area containing thick forests, scrub and marshes. But, they are hopeful that with help, they'll find it. They have set up a website to tell others the story, while showing the video as well as still images.

When asked about the probability of filming a meteorite while skydiving, Amundsen could not give a definite answer. "It's certainly much less likely than winning the lottery three times in a row," he said.

Mysterious Floating Light Caught on Camera
By Doug Walker

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - They were caught on camera the night of February 16. Mysterious lights that appeared in the sky over the 150 acres that Rainer and Edith Shattles call home in the Cumbest Bluff area of Jackson County. Were they a phenomenon that's simple to explain, or something else?

The Shattles never tire of looking at the strange images caught by their trail cameras on that clear winter night.

"We have unusual things happen around here that happen, but it's usually associated with our grandchildren. But this case, we didn't know what it was," Edith recalled. "I was looking for a nice buck to be showing up on the trail camera actually."

The timeline of the pictures is clear. At 7:24pm, deer appear and all is normal. At 7:29, a dim light appears. At 7:35, it gets brighter. Then at 7:53, a weird shape appears on the camera. The deer are lit up brightly, but how? The cameras are infrared and don't emit light. At 7:56, another sharper light appears, then it gets much closer, seemingly focused on the deer. It looks like headlights, but well off the ground and there is no road. It then flies away.

Rainer takes me to the site deep in the woods. I see the trees where the object appeared. Rainer tells me what he's thinking.

"Well at first, I was trying to see if it was something or a reason for what we were seeing. But the more we looked at it, the more we realized that it was something that was in the air, it was something that I had never seen before."

Edith said reaction from friends is what you would expect.

"Well, actually they are all just like we were. What? What is that? And, let me look at that again."

Another picture shows another deer looking at a light that comes from nowhere. Rainer has a theory.

"Well, if it's alien, I'm not sure about that. But it's definitely a UFO. Now whether it's a government drone or what, I wish if nothing else, one of them would step up and say, 'Yes, that's ours,'" Rainer said.

While Rainer and Edith admit they are wondering what this object was and are enlisting the help of friends to try and solve the mystery, they also say it's been quite a bit of fun.

"It's a puzzle that may never be solved and it's one that's kind of fun, adds a little flavor to life, I guess you could say," Rainer explained.

Flavor and another ingredient tossed in as well for the Shattles.

"We are just fascinated over it because of the fact that it was right here and it's real." -

Pacific War Mysteries
By Brent Swancer

War has been an unfortunate and unavoidable feature of human nature since time unremembered. The Pacific Theater of World War II was one of the most ferocious displays of our propensity for war, and while we remember and record the major events of the war, there remain forgotten mysteries lurking in the background. Here among the stories of heroes and battles there can be found other, stranger accounts from the far flung corners of the Pacific. Within the historical cracks during the course of these tumultuous, violent clashes, we can find mysteries hiding in the shadows.

In this first part of a two part series of articles, let us take a tour of some of these lesser known mysteries from one of the greatest wars in human history.

Solomon Island Giants

The Solomon Islands experienced some of the fiercest fighting in World War II, and are most famous for the bloody Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942 and 1943.

Japanese forces had more to contend with than allied soldiers on the Solomon Islands. While traversing the islands’ numerous remote, thick rain forests, the soldiers often reported coming across giant, hairy hominids ranging from 10 to 15 feet in height, and covered in long, brown to reddish brown hair, with prominent brows, flat noses, and wide mouths. The creatures had immense arms and were known on occasion to even brandish crude weapons such as clubs.

It was reported that the giants were known to be quite aggressive and even attack  on occasion. Several units described these terrifying beasts crashing through foliage to ravage squads of soldiers, or snapping apart trees and branches in threatening displays of power. Bullets were said to have little effect on them and soldiers would on many occasions be kept awake by inhuman wailing from the dark as the strange behemoths wandered the night.

Indeed, the Solomon Islands have a long history of mysterious giants, and the local people are well aware of them. There is a rich tradition of folklore, as well as sightings and footprint evidence of giant hairy hominids on the islands that continue right up to the present day.

Bukit Timah Monkey Man

The Bukit Timah Monkey Man is a hairy hominid or some sort of primate said to inhabit Singapore, primarily the Bukit Timah rainforest region. This cryptid is largely known through accounts from Japanese soldiers in World War II, who often encountered the creatures during the Japanese occupation of Singapore.

This cryptid is said to be a bipedal, ape-like creature, around 3 to 6 feet tall, and covered with grayish hair. It is a typical example of what are often referred to as proto pygmies, or miniature hairy hominids, allegedly seen in many parts of the world.

Although most accounts date from World War II, occasional sightings of these creatures persist into the present day. All sightings have occurred within the confines of the The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, which is a pristine protected area established in 1883 and is the only remaining primary forest in Singapore. The area has remained largely undisturbed and unspoiled for hundreds of years. The reserve only has an area of 1.64 square kilometers, yet has amazing biodiversity. It is said that 40% of Singapore’s flora and fauna is found here. Tigers were even found here until the end of the 19th century.

It seems odd that a cryptid as large as the Monkey Man could remain undiscovered in such a small land area, regardless of how pristine or heavily forested it is. In addition, the reserve sits just 12 kilometers from the city center, and in modern times is surrounded on all sides by urban development.

It could be that these hairy hominid reports are the result of misidentifications of crab-eating macaques (Macaca fascicularis), which are common to the area. However, the soldiers would likely have been familiar with such macaques considering their resemblance to the Japanese macaques native to their homeland, and therefore perhaps not as likely to be mistaken for something more bizarre.

Whatever they were seeing out there in the forests remains a mystery.

Giant Land Crabs

Soldiers stationed on remote islands of the Japanese archipelago, particularly in the Ryukyu island chain, were occasionally startled by giant crabs roaming around on beaches and in coastal forests. The crabs were described as being like large spiders, with long, spindly legs and small bodies.

One horrifying account allegedly occurred in the aftermath of The Battle of Okinawa, a battle that was fought over 82 days in 1945 and is considered to be the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific War. A Japanese unit came across a large number of what they described as huge, spider-like crabs feeding on the dead bodies of fallen soldiers on the beach. The crabs in this case were said to have leg spans ranging from 2 to 4 meters.

It is generally thought that these accounts are the result of sighting giant Japanese spider crabs that had somehow wandered up onto land.  Japanese spider crabs inhabit the waters of Japan and have the longest leg spans of any arthropod, up to 3.8 meters (12 feet). As their name suggests, they look very much like large, long legged spiders.

The problem with this explanation lies in the fact that although spider crabs have been known to come into shallower waters from time to time, adult crabs  are usually found at depths of 50 to 600 meters (160 to 2,000 feet). They are not known to leave their aquatic habitat and it doesn’t even appear to be biologically feasible for this species. Although it seems unlikely that these crabs would be able to emerge from the deep, cold waters they call home, they would certainly be a chilling and surprising sight on land.

Giant crabs, giant spiders, or figments of the imagination? What were those soldiers seeing? It remains an enigma.

Sea Monster Attack

The sea had its own share of mysteries during the Pacific War. In addition to numerous sightings of sea serpents throughout the war, there is at least one instance of a ship actually being attacked by some kind of sea monster.

The crew aboard one Japanese scout ship were surprised during one night time mission by something they could not readily explain. One crewman described how a surge of water erupted near the vessel, after which the boat was jolted by something ramming the hull. Other crewmen arrived and saw what appeared to a large grey shape in the water at least 50 feet long with a white underbelly, leathery skin, prominent dorsal fin, and what was described as “the head of an alligator.”

The creature would ram the vessel, circle back, then ram it again. It got to the point where the bone jarring impacts caused the boat to list to starboard, upon which the shocked and panicked crew opened fire, finally sending whatever it was that had attacked them back into the depths from which it came. There was so much damage to their ship that they were forced to abandon their mission and go back for repairs.

Conjuring Ghosts With Your Mind
By Maud Deitch

We've all been there — you freak yourself out telling stories or watching a horror movie and all of a sudden you're seeing poltergeists everywhere. But what about people who have actually caused paranormal phenomena to happen, with just the power of their brains?

One of the most famous explorations of the link between the paranormal and the mind is The Philip experiment, which tested a group's ability to "create a ghost" from a fictional narrative. These experiments have informed much of modern parapsychology, even making it into cinema. In , a group of psychology students perform experiments inspired by The Philip Experiment on a young girl, Jane Harper, who harbors unspeakable secrets, resulting in a truly terrify outcome. I looked at The Philip Experiment and spoke with a psychiatrist about whether or not telekinesis and other paranormal phenomena can be explained using what we know about the human brain.
The Philip Experiment

In the early 1970s, a group of parapsychological researchers — known as The Owen Group — from the Toronto Society for Psychical Research decided to test the theory that paranormal visitations are merely a product of the human mind by seeing if they could use their collective fear and belief to create a spirit, named Philip, and force it to manifest.

The group began by envisioning a history for Philip — they even drew his portrait. They then spent an entire year discussing Philip, meditating on his image and willing him to appear to them. In 1973, during a traditional spiritualist séance in which members placed their hands on a table and spoke and sang to Philip, he began to communicate. He began by rapping on the table, answering questions related to the history that they had created for him, and also correctly answering questions outside of his own mythology, but still within the collective knowledge of the group.

Telekinetic happenings were reported, such as the lights dimming when the group would request Philip lower them. The Philip experiment worked so well that the Owen group took him to the small screen — filming a séance in front of a live audience of fifty people, during which the table reportedly levitated. Iris Owen and Margaret Sparrow, both members of The Owen Group, also wrote a book about the experiment, called Conjuring Up Philip.
Evidence of the Paranormal?

Some saw the Philip experiment as proof that people can, with enough will power, connect with a spiritual or paranormal world, while others saw the test as proof human consciousness creates such experiences. I spoke with psychiatrist Dr. Robert Stein, about what he thinks links the paranormal and the human mind.

"What I don't believe is that there are people hanging around in the ether waiting to talk to us," he began, but went on to say that it's not as simple as saying that these things are hoaxes, or that everyone who claims to have had a paranormal experience is a fraud. Citing the frequency of simultaneous scientific discovery, and the phenomena of mass hysteria, Stein suggests that group experiences of the supernatural are either the result group projection or products of the fact that human energy — specifically ideas — are more tangible than we think.

"There is no reason to think that ideas travel any differently than, say, radio waves," he said. The same way radio waves can cross great distances, perhaps brain waves can pass through the air, creating physical, telekinetic changes in the environment and shared understanding. "There are so many examples of people around the world coming to the same conclusion at exactly the same time, it's possible that the mind is more powerful than we think."

With this in mind, there are two possible explanations for the Philip Experiment's success: either the participants were so wrapped up in their fantasy that they interpreted everyday phenomena to support their desire for a paranormal encounter, or they were actually creating a change in their environment with their brain waves. There's also a third option: that the whole thing was a hoax.

What do you think: are experiences of the paranormal the result of spirits on another plane, or is it all the result of the human mind?

San Antonio Spurs Terrified by Ghosts at Hotel
By Katie Dowd

Berkeley’s Claremont Resort: beautiful, stately, perhaps a bit run down. And, according to the San Antonio Spurs’ Jeff Ayres and Tim Duncan, haunted to the rafters.

The Spurs were in town last week to play the Warriors, and our spooky story starts with Ayres. Weary from a long travel day, he approached his hotel room only to hear the sound of a child coming from within. When Ayres tried his room key, the door wouldn’t open. He called the front desk for backup.

“They’re like, ‘We can get you a new key and send you up with security and make sure nobody’s there, because there shouldn’t be anybody in there.’ Then they’re like, ‘We’ll just get you a new room.’ It was the creepiest thing,” Ayres said. “I heard a couple of other guys heard babies in the hallway, kids running down the hallway. Creepy. I really heard voices and a baby in the room, and there wasn’t anybody in there. It was crazy.”

There you have it, folks. Creepy.

According to several … questionable … sources (realhaunts.com and a thread on Trip Advisor called “The Claremont Resort …Haunted?????“), the hotel is haunted by the ghost of a girl who died on the property when she was six years old. Her playful ghost is said to frequent room 422.

Tim Duncan corroborated Ayres’ tale of terror:

“I heard a baby in his room. There was somebody or something in his room, yeah. I definitely heard something. It wasn’t creepy, because I assumed it was really somebody in the room, and they gave him the wrong room.

“But when they told me the story the next day about calling up there and no one in the room, it’s at that point you get chills. I totally agreed with him. There was a baby there, absolutely. I heard about the history of the place, and I’d rather not (stay there again).”

We can only imagine that further investigation would have revealed that the “ghost” was actually a sheet on a pulley and the monster was Gregg Popovich in a mask. After being unveiled, Popovich blamed “you meddling kids” and went on to coach the Spurs to a 99-90 victory over the Warriors.
